SLEEP HYGIENE: HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR SLEEP! ✨💚 What your body does during the day is just as important as what it does at night. Sleep is vital for your health and wellbeing.

1. Sleep in a dark, cool, quiet room. Darkness triggers melatonin, your sleep hormone. A calm, cool space supports your natural sleep cycle.

2. Create a relaxing bedtime routine. Activities like bathing, reading, journaling, knitting, or meditating help lower cortisol (your stress hormone), allowing melatonin to rise and sleep to begin.

3. Don’t stay in bed awake for more than 30 minutes. If you can’t sleep, get up and do something relaxing with low lighting. This helps reset your sleep cycle.

4. Get morning sunlight. Your circadian rhythm is guided by light. Morning sun tells your brain to stop making melatonin, helping you wake up. Darkness at night restarts melatonin to help you sleep.

5. Avoid large meals before bed. Heavy meals can cause discomfort and disrupt sleep. If hungry, opt for a small, healthy snack to stabilize blood sugar.

🎒🌿 Back to School Wellness Starts Here! Help your kids thrive this school year with three foundational habits: routine, nutrition, and sleep.

🕰️ Routine: Kids feel calmer and more confident with a consistent morning flow. Get them involved in making a to-do list—bed made, teeth brushed, breakfast eaten, lunch packed, and even time for creativity or caring for pets. For a stress free start to the school day, make sure you ditch technology and allow the morning to be a no screen zone!

🍽️ Nutrition: Plan meals ahead to save time and boost focus. Include protein-rich foods like eggs, nuts, fish, and chicken, plus plenty of fruits and veggies. Prep and freeze meals for busy days, and keep healthy snacks on hand. Check out Dr. Chris, ND's book: The Essential Diet; Eating for Mental Health if you in need of some fresh ideas! 🌙 Sleep: Start adjusting bedtime now so everyone’s refreshed for the first day. Children need 10+ hours, teens even more, and adults 7.5–9 hours. Create a calming sleep space, power down screens and put them to "sleep" by 6pm, and spend quality time together as a family playing games, doing puzzles, crafts, reading time before bed.

In that pause lives possibility. The choice to breathe. To reflect. To respond with intention. Healing begins in that space—and so does transformation. Viktor Frankl's book "Man's Search for Meaning" is one of my favorite books of all time? I only wish I had read it sooner! Have you read it? If so, what was your favorite takeaway from it?
