Spring Reset for Your Body 🌱 (…Alberta Edition ❄️)

First day of spring was March 20… but let’s be honest — it still feels like winter out there.

Even if the snow isn’t going anywhere just yet, it is the perfect time to reset your body after months of stiffness from cold weather, less movement, and more time indoors.

Shake off winter with a few simple steps:
• Get moving again — start easing back into regular activity
• Focus on mobility — hips, spine, and shoulders tend to get tight
• Stretch daily — even 5–10 minutes makes a difference
• Address lingering aches before they turn into injuries

Winter habits can leave your body feeling restricted — and that can carry into spring activities like walking, running, or golf.

Chiropractic and Physiotherapy treatments can help improve mobility, reduce stiffness, and get you feeling ready for whatever “spring” throws at us.

Start your season feeling loose, mobile, and ready — snow or not.

Low Back Pain: Small Habits That Make a Big Difference

Low back pain is one of the most common issues we see — and often, it’s the small daily habits that add up over time.

A few simple changes can go a long way:

✔️ MOVE MORE, SIT LESS
Avoid staying in one position too long — even short walks help.

✔️ CHECK YOUR POSTURE
Keep your chest up, shoulders relaxed, and avoid slouching.

✔️ STRENGTHEN YOUR CORE
A strong core supports your spine and reduces strain.

✔️ LIFT SMARTER
Bend at your hips and knees, not your back.

✔️ PRORITIZE RECOVERY
Stretch, rest, and don’t ignore ongoing discomfort.

Chiropractic, Physiotherapy, Massage, and Acupuncture can help address the root cause, improve movement, and keep you feeling your best.

⛳ Golf Season Is Around the Corner – Get Your Body Ready! 🏌️‍♂️

Before you dust off the clubs and head to the course, now is the perfect time to address those aches and limitations that could affect your game.

Issues like Golfer’s Elbow can flare up quickly once the swings start — but early treatment can help you stay pain-free all season.

Here’s how we can help you prepare:

1. TREAT ELBOW PAIN EARLY
Golfer’s elbow and tendon irritation can be treated with therapies such as ART, Graston, Dry Needling, or Shockwave Therapy.

2. IMPROVE MOBILITY
Loosening tight shoulders, hips, and spine helps improve your swing and reduce strain on joints.

3. REDUCE PAIN BEFORE IT STARTS
Addressing small aches now can prevent bigger injuries once you’re playing regularly.

4. MOVE BETTER, PLAY BETTER
Chiropractic and Physiotherapy can help restore mobility, improve strength, and keep you performing at your best.
Get ahead of the season so you can focus on your game — not your pain.

🧠 February is Psychology Month, so we wanted our next Q&A to feature:

When should I see a psychologist?

You don’t need to be in crisis to see a psychologist.

Many people choose to book when they:
•Feel overwhelmed, stressed, or emotionally drained
•Experience ongoing anxiety, low mood, or burnout
•Struggle with sleep, focus, motivation, or decision-making
•Feel stuck in unhelpful thought patterns or habit
•Are navigating life changes, grief, work stress, or relationship challenges
•Want practical tools to improve coping, boundaries, and mental resilience

If something is affecting your quality of life — even quietly — that’s a valid reason to seek support.

Seeing a psychologist is not about being “broken.”
It’s about gaining insight, skills, and support to feel better and function better.

❄ Getting Your Body Winter-Ready ❄
Skiing, skating, snowboarding — don’t skip the prep.
Cold temperatures + sudden activity increase the risk of strains, pulls, and joint injuries. A proper warm-up helps your body move better and react faster on snow and ice.

Here’s how to prepare before you head out:

1️⃣ Raise Your Core Temperature
Start with 5–10 minutes of gentle movement (fast walking, stairs, or easy cycling). Warm muscles are more flexible and less injury-prone.

2️⃣ Mobilize Before You Stretch
Instead of holding long stretches, focus on controlled movement:
-Hip circles and walking lunges to free up the hips
-Arm swings and torso rotations for the upper body
-Ankle rolls to improve balance and control

3️⃣ Prep for Your Sport
Match your warm-up to your activity:
-Skiers: Squats and side-to-side lunges for leg strength
-Skaters: Forward and lateral lunges for balance and push-off
-Snowboarders: Core rotations and shoulder mobility for turning and control

4️⃣ Wake Up Your Balance System
Single-leg stands, step-downs, or slow controlled squats help your body react quickly on uneven or slippery surfaces.

5️⃣ Recover After
Post-activity stretching helps reduce stiffness and supports faster recovery — especially during colder months.

A few minutes of preparation can make the difference between a great day outside and a preventable injury.
