UPDATE RE: Mill Creek Pedestrian Bridge Erosion Repairs Project
Please see the attached Construction Bulletin, which outlines the anticipated disruptions to the trail network. For additional information and to stay up to date on the project, you can also visit the project webpage ([edmonton.ca/MillCreekErosion](http://edmonton.ca/MillCreekErosion...)).
Regarding pedestrian and active transportation, the pathways beneath bridge B082 and across B275 will be closed for the duration of the project. Signage of detours will be in place in the areas. A visual depicting the anticipated impact on the pedestrian network is also attached for your reference. Minimal traffic disruptions are expected on the vehicle bridge as work will occur under the bridge and will not require road closures.
We anticipate the construction will begin the week of September 15, 2025, with completion expected by the end of 2025, with some carryover for landscaping in 2026. Please be aware that this timeline is dependent on contractor performance. We appreciate your understanding as these impacts to the trail network are necessary to safely complete the project.

The City of Edmonton will begin repairs on two bridges within the Mill Creek Ravine near 82 (Whyte) Avenue on September 15th. Please note this is NOT the Trestle Bridge rebuild along 76th avenue

The first is on the 82 Avenue Bridge, which involves erosion repairs, erosion protection and replacement of a drainage system. This will require a temporary closure of the ravine pathway beneath the bridge.

A pedestrian bridge within the ravine North of 82nd avenue will also be undergoing repairs and erosion protection.

Closures will only be on the trails, no road closures will occur.

Construction will begin September 15th and is expected to be finished by December 2025.
Some trees will have to be removed to complete the two upgrades. Replacement of the trees will occur in spring 2026.
