It was an amazing weekend! This event was a phenomenal success and because of it, the seeds of change have been planted❤️. Before my presentation, I had the pleasure of speaking with, sharing thoughts, and making connections with some beautiful humans who share so much in common. Thank you so much Toni Boyko for organizing this event and all the Family sessions of The Working Mind First Responder yet to come. Fire Chief David Lazenby, for not only coming to the event with his beautiful wife but, for his strong advocacy for the improvement of and continued education of mental health training, as well as Deputy Chief Graeme McAllister. Dickey Foundation for graciously sponsoring the event and supporting public safety personnel all over North America. And lastly, but absolutely most importantly, the incredible family members and loved ones who showed their dedication and unwavering committment by showing up, listening, learning, and sharing.... Social connection and community are incredibly powerful, as we are all just trying to do the very best we can! From here, I would love to have a full room for each of the 3 Family sessions ( to start with ) that are being offered by Edmonton Fire Rescue Services, and by what I saw on Saturday, I believe it is possible❤️.
