It was a fun surprise to receive this certificate from in my inbox this morning! 🤩

Back at the beginning of 2024, I attended one of Charlie’s teaching intensives online. During the course he stressed that he was just showing us what he does as inspiration and encouraged us to bring our own innovation and intuitive guidance to any healing energy work that we do. The text in the shape of a finger print on the certificate is so creative, and it feels like a reminder that we all have our own unique magic and gifts to bring into the world. ✨

Charlie is an energy healer who has encouraged scientific examination of his healing work. He is featured in the show The Healer. He brings so much heart and integrity to the healing energy work that he does with people. I feel really honoured to have had the opportunity to learn from him. 🙏🏻

I am still playing with his techniques, and will possibly one day integrate them along with the medical qigong that I am also learning. ❤️

For June, the free treatment at our South Clinic is being offered by Genevieve Boyer.

Genevieve is a Doctor of Acupuncture who also practices Upledger Craniosacral Therapy. She has extensive training in fertility enhancement and is a board-certified Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (ABORM) and also has specialized training for working with pregnant women, infants and children. Her treatments, for these concerns or for any pain or health concern, may include acupuncture, cupping, guasha, moxibustion, Acutonics, craniosacral therapy and/or Reiki, as appropriate and within the comfort level of the patient. Through her training in Shonishin, she can also provide needle-free acupuncture treatments to children who are nervous of needles.

New business cards with my Doctor of Acupuncture designation 👩‍⚕️, and a new influx of playdough for the littles that come in for treatment! 💕The playdough keeps their hands and minds occupied while my hands are busy helping their bodies relax. Sometimes parents bring in shows for them to watch on devices and that’s fine too.

It blows my mind to think that only a decade and a half ago this guy, who is now so much taller than me, was small enough to carry inside of me for nine months. 🤰💕And pregnancy was only the beginning of all the many ways that motherhood would invite me to stretch and grow as a person.

I feel so blessed to be on this journey of motherhood, and also through my work to be supporting families 🤱🏼👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 at every stage, from preconception onward. After 14 years as an acupuncturist, some of the children I treated early in my career are now adults, and some of the babies that were conceived while I provided acupuncture support for their parents are now teens!

It’s been such an incredible journey, all around, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be a mom, and also to be able to support so many amazing parents and kids in healthy living through the work that I do. 💖

I am excited to announce that I will be moving my acupuncture and craniosacral therapy practice back to the south side!

After the May long weekend I will be working out of Therapeutic Body Concepts South in Twin Brooks just north of the Anthony Henday at #203 11037 9 Avenue NW on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

For those of you who live north or central and found my former downtown location very convenient, I will also have some availability near the Telus World of Science on Sundays. My Sunday appointments will be available at the new Therapeutic Body Concepts Coronation location which will be opening in June. More information about this new location will be announced formally by very soon.

For those of you on my newsletter list, I will be sending more detailed information shortly. In the meantime, please message me for more info, or if you are wondering how to book in at either of these new locations.

Acupuncture and craniosacral therapy can help your baby get the best start in life.

Acupuncture helps to balance the nervous system, which in turn regulates all other systems in the body. Only the thinnest acupuncture needles are used on babies, and they are inserted very shallowly and then immediately removed. 99% of the time babies don’t cry when receiving acupuncture. 👶🏻❤️

Craniosacral therapy also has a regulating effect on the nervous system, and it helps to correct any alignment or tension issues that may have developed during the birthing process or in utero. Babies generally find craniosacral therapy very relaxing and comforting.

I have some new followers, so I figured it would be good to introduce myself.

I am a registered acupuncturist in Edmonton, Alberta. I have a special focus in pain management, reproductive health and children’s health. I also have additional training in trauma informed care.

Fun facts about me:

I have a teenage son who is now taller than me. He surpassed me in height almost three years ago now!

My first degree was a Bachelor of Science Degree. After earning my degree I saved up my money and flew to Australia ✈️ where I worked as a zoology research assistant for half a year and then travelled around for a bit.

I love music with a good rhythm 🎶 and I can’t help but move my body when I hear a good beat. I’m a huge fan of Latin salsa dancing! 💃
