Help us welcome our new RMT, Angila!

Angila is a wife and mother to two young girls. She has been practicing as a massage therapist in Edmonton for over 10 years and loves seeing people benefit from the power of human touch and massage therapy.

Angila started as a massage therapist with the hope she would be able to help people overcome injuries and pain that may be limiting them in their everyday life. From motor vehicle accident and sports injury rehabilitation, to orthopedic surgery recovery, her massage therapy experience has helped her understand the best way to facilitate improvement.

Angila is constantly taking courses and learning new approaches to better help her clients get back to where they want to be. She's earned additional certification in cupping and hot stone massage, and has completed coursework in intraoral jaw massage. Whether it be cupping, deep tissue, or a general relaxation massage, Angila customizes treatments for each individual, because no two people have the same concerns.

To book in with Angila, visit our website and book online here https://www.lifemark.ca/Academy-Place/our-team or call our clinic at 1-888-387-5763.

It is Vestibular Disorders Association’s (VeDA) Annual Balance Awareness Week where we try and increase awareness around vestibular disorders and their treatment.

Our team at Academy Place are showing off their balance skills with Fiona the Flamingo.

🦩Dizziness (including vertigo) affects 20-30% of people in their lifetime
🦩Vestibular problems are commonly the cause
🦩Prevalence rises with age and is about 2-3x higher in women than men
🦩BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo), an inner ear problem and most common cause of vertigo, and Vestibular Migraine are largely underdiagnosed
🦩BPPV represents 1/5th of all referrals to vertigo clinics
🦩The incidence of dizziness and vertigo in children is 8-18%
