Centre for Autism Services Alberta

Centre for Autism Services Alberta The Centre for Autism Services Alberta is a registered charity that provides support and services to individuals with autism in Alberta.

The Centre for Autism Services Alberta is a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children, teens and young adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Established in 1997, the Centre has grown to offer a wide range of services to individuals on the spectrum and their families, and is the largest accredited autism service provider in northern Alberta. Its mission is to provide comprehensive and innovative supports and services to those affected by ASD. Some of those supports include: early childhood services; sports, leisure, social and skills programs; and pre-employment programs. The Centre’s vision is to support individuals with autism in leading meaningful, engaged lives. Together we can change outcomes, foster independence, enrich lives, empower families and transform communities. Together we can transform Alberta.

We’re endlessly grateful for the incredible feedback we receive from our families. They are the heart of everything we do, and they remind us why inclusive summer programming like ours matter so deeply in the community.

“My son has been doing Camp Ace this summer. This is his second year doing your camp, and it is the first place where it is just joy. It is so encouraging to pick up your kid and hear adults tell you how fantastic they are, rather than a list of issues and negative things they've done. It is incredible to pick him up and see a huge smile on his face and hear how he had such a fun day. To see what your child is capable of when fully supported is a gift that you have given us.”

- Katie, CFASA Parent

"I am proud to be autistic (and otherwise neurodivergent) because of the joy that it has granted me access to. Joy becomes a full-body experience for me. Autism is a variation of processing, and for me that often means I feel joy in my hands and chest. I am a delightful person doing delightful person things, and moving and stimming and singing in a way that makes the world ring. I'm proud of being unpredictably predictable, and being an oddball who collects interests and art.

The best thing an employer can do to be more accessible to me is having patience, and being capable of telling me when I'm doing something off directly. The best employers I've had have known that I'm trying my best, and have given suggestions that were within my capacity. Any employer who cares about your wellbeing can be an accessible employer."

Jesse is a participant in the EmploymentWorks Program at the Centre — a program designed to support Autistic individuals and people with disabilities in finding and keeping meaningful employment.

Disability Pride isn’t just about recognizing diversity — it’s about celebrating the strength, creativity, and resilience of disabled people in a world that often isn’t built with accessibility in mind.

As Disability Pride Month comes to a close, we’re reminded that pride doesn’t end here. It’s something to carry year-round, as we continue building communities that are more inclusive, respectful, and accessible for all. Thank you for sharing your joy with the world, Jesse!

We were thrilled to host an ECVO member meet and greet yesterday here at the Centre!

"Like many non profits, CFASA could amplify our impact with greater resources—and one way to do that is by raising awareness of our services and building strong community partnerships. That’s why we chose to host an ECVO membership session: to bring together service providers and community builders, strengthen connections, and explore opportunities for collaboration!"

- Jonathan Robb, CEO CFASA

"I’m grateful I pushed myself to work with your services, it’s been truly transformative.

Recently, I learned autism runs deep in my family, and seeing my young cousins begin their own journeys reminds me why it’s so important to show kids like them that their differences are strengths, not limitations.

The work you do is vital to helping our community grow and embrace those differences. As my company grows, I plan to honour and highlight community supports like yours, because of the meaningful impact you’ve had, on me and so many others."

Lisa participated in the EmploymentWorks Program at the Centre — a program that supports Autistic individuals and people with disabilities in finding and maintaining meaningful employment. She graciously shared her experience on her time at the Centre and her personal autism journey. We’re so grateful for her openness and wish her success in her future career!

As Disability Pride Month comes to a close, we’re reminded that disability pride is something to celebrate year-round. As Lisa shared, it’s important to recognize that our differences are strengths — not limitations — and to continue working toward more respectful, inclusive, and accessible communities for everyone!
