Edmonton Firefighters Memorial Society Nonprofit Organization The Edmonton Firefighters Memorial Society was formed in 1997.

It rose from a desire to recognize those members of the Edmonton Fire Department who had given the supreme sacrifice in the service of the citizens of Edmonton.

It is with heavy hearts and much sorrow we inform you of the sudden passing yesterday, July 14th, of active EFFU member Emergency Communication Specialist Qualified, Nicole Heatherington. Nicole is survived by Craig, a Deputy Fire Chief in Spruce Grove, and her son Tavish. Our condolences go out to Nicole’s family, friends and loved ones as they mourn during this difficult time.

Gary started with EFRS in February, 1999 and retired in February, 2019.

Benny played a huge part in the inception process of the EFD Retirees Brigade in 1985 and had been thoroughly involved with the Brigade ever since.

Weary’s firefighting career spanned from February, 1952 until September 11, 1987.
