**************************************
Hi, I’m Shelby!
I am a University of Alberta graduate, with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Master of Science in Physical Therapy.
I have always had a passion for sport and physical activity which led me to this career. I grew up in a rural community outside of Edmonton, playing a variety of school sports with an emphasis on volleyball. (Fun fact: I also Ukrainian danced for 10 years!) During my undergraduate degree I took my passion for sport and spent two years working as a student kinesiologist with the U of A Varsity basketball teams and discovered I really enjoyed helping individuals recover from acute injuries. After my undergrad, I knew I wanted to continue my education and become a physiotherapist to help people of all activity levels get back to doing the things they enjoy.
My treatment style is based on therapeutic exercise, manual therapy and education. I enjoy working with people of all ages from children to seniors and use a patient centred approach to therapy to ensure that treatment is individualized to my patient’s abilities, interests and goals. My goal is to guide you through your rehab process, providing you with the tools for recovery, self-management, and preventing re-injury. Ultimately, I want to work with you, as a team, to keep you moving and doing the things you love!
Outside of the clinic you can find me taking a group fitness class, playing women’s league volleyball, running in the river valley, lifting at the gym or even golfing or snowboarding (poorly) depending on the season. I love to visit my family and friends, cheer for the Oilers when they are winning, and am always on the hunt to find Edmonton’s best cafe. I look forward to meeting you!
