My son Caleb inspires me to become a calmer, lighter, adventurous & present mom. He makes me laugh every day. Through his interests, I have learned about topics I had never imagined (hockey goalies and drumming). He continues to be a bright light in my life ❤️

My precious maman has always been an inspiring, strong, loving & beautiful presence in my life. I am grateful to all of her support. She is an incredible grand-maman who continues to show up for Caleb ❤️

✨ H O L I D A Y S ✨ I hope you all had a magical holiday season. I have enjoyed a slower pace, connecting with close family & friends, relaxation and my favourite – precious time with my son ❤️

The end of the year can encourage us to pause & reflect on life. I have been appreciating quiet moments of reflections & cultivating more awareness on how I want to show up in the near year.

I am incredibly grateful to all my amazing patients who continue to trust me along their healing journeys. I truly enjoy practicing naturopathic medicine and working with families. It brings me such joy to see the ripple effect into a family once one member starts to improve their lifestyle habits.

I will continue to keep evolving, learning and being aware of my emotional state. As both a mother & a doctor, I prioritize stress management and addressing my mental health to show up as the best version of myself for my son and my patients. I continue to learn that rest is productive and essential to our overall health (this is a hard one for me!).

✨ B L O S S O M I N G ✨ Recently my son celebrated his 10th birthday. I have such precious memories of Caleb as a baby, toddler and young child. My mom heart is missing the earlier moments of his childhood. My son has been, and continues to be, my most inspirational teacher.

Reflections to my son as he enters the double-digit era:

✨ I will always provide a softness to balance your strength
✨ I will keep encouraging you to try new challenges (even if I don’t know anything about them, I am willing to learn with you)

✨ I will continue to practice patience as you navigate varying emotions
✨ I will always be ready to be silly & laugh with you
✨ My heart will always be a place of acceptance, safety, guidance & endless love

Watching our children grow and become their own person is such a blessing. My son’s passion for being a hockey goalie and drummer continue to astonish me. His curiosity, love of math, building challenging lego, creativity, affinity to sports, his leadership skills & joie de vie keep amazing me. His kindness and love for others, animals and the planet make me proud to be his maman.

No matter how life changes as your grow older, my love will always be a place you can return to. Loving you unconditionally has been my life’s greatest privilege. I am incredibly proud of the person you are becoming. I will always be your greatest fan (even if it requires countless hours in a cold hockey rink, early mornings & learning how to take care of goalie equipment).

✨ S E L F C A R E ✨This past week I was able to take a pause. A moment to ground & regulate my nervous system. The slower pace has given me moments of self reflection.

We tend to glorify being busy. Always having something to do. Always rushing to the next task. Always saying yes.

Cultivating moments in your day & in your life to slow it down will help regulate your nervous system. Mental clarity & inner peace can occur in moments of stillness. Learning to say no & implement boundaries can help.

Rest is productive. Rest can offer a reset for your mind, body & soul. May you find moments of stillness in your day ❤️

✨R E F L E C T I O N S ✨My son recently turned 9 years old. It feels like it was yesterday that I was holding my little baby boy in my arms. And now it feels like he’s growing up too quickly.

I take a moment to reflect on the previous year every time it’s his birthday. Caleb has been, and continues to be, my greatest teacher. Being his Maman has allowed me to grow in ways I never imagined possible. He has encouraged me to show up as a strong, empowered, and courageous woman.

His appreciation for life, his courage to take risks, his charismatic personality, his curious spirit, and his loving heart are all character traits that I admire. I enjoy following his passions and have learned a lot this past year. (especially about playing drums and hockey goalies!)

I will continue to evolve and grow as a human being to be able to show up as the best version of myself for Caleb. Loving him unconditionally is my most precious gift. From the moment he was born, he has shined a radiant light in my life✨ I will always be his biggest

✨ W E L C O M E ✨ I have new followers and wanted to welcome each one of you. I am Dr. Mélanie Robinson, a licensed Naturopathic Doctor in Edmonton, Alberta. I practice at the beautiful clinic with an amazing team. I truly am passionate about empowering patients to improve their lifestyle and become a healthier version of themselves.

My practice focuses on treating children and women. Several of my patients are busy moms like me. I understand the beautiful chaos of parenthood while balancing work, self-care, extracurricular activities, etc. I treat many women who are exhausted, emotional and hormonal. I treat many kids who struggle with anxiety, ADHD, asthma, allergies, eczema and digestive concerns. I also treat many auto-immune conditions in my practice.

Fun facts about me:

✨I am a hockey goalie mom & team manager (my son is in his 4th year of hockey and 1st year of playing in net)

✨I am raised in the small town of Bonnyville, AB

✨I had a satellite clinic in Bonnyville from 2012-2016

✨ My first language is French, and I treat several patients in French

✨ I am an only child (I’m grateful to have several close friends that are my “sisters”)

✨ My favourite colours are blush pink and gold

✨ I was vegetarian for 15 years (and I was vegan for part of that time)

✨ I have played hours of hockey in the basement with my son (keeps me in shape and I love it!)

✨ I enjoy decluttering and organizing

✨I love being silly and making people laugh

✨C E L E B R A T I O N ✨This is 40. The past weekend I was blessed to celebrate my birthday with close family & friends. The heartfelt connections, laughter, fun activities, and the showering of love have truly nourished my heart.

Reflecting on the past decade, I am grateful for all the beautiful people in my life. I celebrate my accomplishments. I am proud of learning to speak my voice and honouring my true authentic self.

✨ I have learned to listen to my inner voice and trust that it guides me to what is in my best interest.

✨ I have had to overcome some challenges (and continue to do so), but trust that I am resilient and will continue to grow amongst the hardships.

✨ My most meaningful moment in my 30s was becoming Caleb’s maman. He is my most precious gift and continues to inspire me to become a calmer, stronger & more adventurous version of myself.

My intention for the next decade of my life is to energize, realign and rejuvenate my body, mind & spirit.

✨I told my son I will become the strongest version of myself in my 40s. He has taken that seriously and we played numerous sports together on my birthday (tennis, hockey, soccer!).

✨I will give my body & mind nourishment. I have not had any alcohol this year and may continue to avoid it as I recognize my hormones are more balanced and I feel more vitality without it.

✨I will commit to regulate my nervous system and surround myself with others who make me feel emotionally safe.

✨I will slow down my pace of life & release the guilt of rest. Cultivating inner peace requires a calm mind which needs periods of rest.

✨Finally, I will continue to work on my own healing journey, which inspires me to show up as the best version of myself for my son, my family, my friends, and my patients. Doing our own healing work can have a ripple effect into other’s lives and I recognize that is one of my life’s missions ❤️

✨ S H I N E B R I G H T ✨ “Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”

The world has felt heavy lately. There continues to be a lot of darkness and sadness that surrounds us. Amongst these feelings, a sense of discomfort may arise within your nervous system. I have felt it. This feeling is a sense of unease and constriction. I have chosen to dive deeper into exploring that feeling even if it felt uncomfortable.

Throughout my exploration, I have felt an inner transformation that is guiding me to embrace my inner light. It’s a sense of knowing that all will be well. It’s a sense of inner calmness. It’s a sense of coming home to myself. Surrendering to the darkness is a courageous step forward in the journey of life.

Today is a powerful day with the solar eclipse among us. It is a time to let go of what no longer serves your highest self. It is a transformative time to embrace new beginnings and allow your light to shine bright ✨
