We were so proud to announce that Dr. Chris Kaeding was the first surgeon in the U.S. to implant a plastic meniscus into the knee of a patient. If this procedure is approved by the FDA, it may spare millions of patients from having knee replacement surgery. Details: http://go.osu.edu/meniscus

Happy New Year!
For those looking to book Athletic Therapy(injury Assessment/Treatment), Personal Training, Gait/Postural Analysis, and private CPR courses, I now have an online booking system. You can still book through me as well. My primary hours are on Thursday, but will be open the occasional Monday, and available for First Aid on Wednesdays. We will also continue to run our CPR/BLS/First Aid every Thursday evening. (sometimes Wednesdays when the hall is double booked.)

Myth #3: Athletic therapy only helps with muscle and bone injuries.

False! Athletic therapists do focus on musculoskeletal injuries (this includes injuries to muscles, bones, joints, tendons, ligaments, and cartilage), and treat aches and pains that are slowing you down. But Certified Athletic Therapists also recognize and manage concussions, and are trained to notice signs of other diseases to refer you to your doctor. ATs are also First Responders knowledgeable in emergency medical situations.

Myth #1: Athletic therapy is only for athletes!

Actually, athletic therapists treat many different people. Athletic therapy can help kids with a sports injury, people with concussions, seniors trying to maintain an active lifestyle, and the repetitive strain injuries that come with a physical and demanding job. If you have an injury to your muscles, bones and joints, athletic therapy might be for you.
