What an incredible couple of days at the Nisku Energy Show! 💙

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who stopped by the Chrysalis: Woods & Plastics booth to connect with us. We’re so grateful for every conversation, every question, and every person who took the time to learn more about Chrysalis and the work we do alongside adults with disabilities.

Moments like these matter so much. When people stop by to connect, show interest, and learn more, it helps build awareness, strengthens the community, and reminds the individuals we support that they are valued, included, and celebrated. Your support helps create more opportunities for adults with disabilities to build independence, pursue their goals, and be part of a community where they truly belong.

We also have our 50/50 winning ticket! 🎉

🔬✨ A sincere thank you to TELUS Spark Science Centre for providing complimentary tickets for Chrysalis participants to enjoy a day full of exploration, creativity, and connection.

Lawrence and the individuals he supports shared:
“We had such a blast at TELUS Spark! We packed a ton into the day—trying out the VR zone, exploring the Quantum Sandbox, and getting creative at the BLUprint building station. The real highlight for everyone was definitely the Infinity Dome. It was awesome to see the whole group laughing, exploring, and really getting into it all day. Days like this are the best—getting out, trying new things, and having a great time together. Can’t wait for our next adventure!”

Experiences like this matter because they centre the individuals we support in real, meaningful community participation. At TELUS Spark, Lawrence and the individuals he supports were able to explore, try new things, and engage with interactive exhibits in ways that were fun, hands-on, and engaging. Along the way, they were building confidence in their abilities, strengthening independence through navigating new environments and making choices, and developing new skills such as problem-solving, communication, and collaboration through shared experiences.

Thank you, TELUS Spark, for making this possible. 💙

A huge and heartfelt thank you to Alberta Blue Cross for their incredibly generous donation of musical items to Chrysalis! 💙🎶

We are so grateful for your kindness and support. These musical items are much more than instruments, they are powerful tools for communication, self-expression, creativity, and connection for the people we serve.

For many of our program participants, music creates opportunities to express emotions, build confidence, connect with others, and experience joy in meaningful ways. Because of Alberta Blue Cross’ generosity, even more moments of learning, laughter, and inclusion will be possible.

Thank you for helping make such a meaningful impact in our community and in the lives of the people we serve. We truly cannot thank you enough! 💙✨

📰 Chrysalis Newspaper Program

Chrysalis participants create a newspaper that is released every two months and shared with staff, participants, and families.

For many participants who love writing, this program offers a valuable opportunity to express their voice, ideas, and creativity. They brainstorm topics, discuss what matters to them, and write their own articles, turning their thoughts into something real for others to read and enjoy.

This initiative goes beyond being just a newspaper. It builds confidence, strengthens communication skills, and gives participants a true sense of pride and ownership in their work. Seeing their writing published and shared across the Chrysalis community is incredibly empowering.

We take great pride in the voices, stories, and creativity that shine through in every edition.

A huge thank you to Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) for generously supporting our art program in Calgary!

We are truly grateful! Your grant purchased art supplies providing participants with more opportunities for self-expression, skill-building, and creativity. Art is a powerful way for participants to share ideas, emotions, and perspectives that might be difficult to express in other ways.

Because of you, participants can explore different mediums, try new techniques, and experience the confidence and joy that comes from creating something uniquely their own.

Thank you FCL! Your investment in creativity, inclusion, and community truly makes a difference! 💛✨💛🎨

🌍✨ Today is Global Accessibility Awareness Day! ✨🌍

At Chrysalis, accessibility is more than a conversation, it’s something we work toward every single day. 💙

We are proud to support individuals in building essential computer and digital skills year-round, helping people gain confidence, independence, and greater access to opportunities in today’s digital world. From learning how to navigate technology to staying connected online, these skills can create life-changing opportunities.

We also work hard to make our online content as accessible and inclusive as possible for everyone in the disability sector. That means:
✨ Using easy-to-read text
✨ Larger, clear fonts
✨ Bright colours and strong contrast for readability
✨ Simple, inclusive language
✨ Accessible layouts and visuals
✨ Continuing to learn and improve our digital accessibility practices every day

More than 1 billion people worldwide live with disabilities and impairments, and accessibility helps ensure everyone can fully participate, connect, and belong.

Global Accessibility Awareness Day reminds us that inclusion matters everywhere, including online. Together, we can help create a more accessible world for all. 🌟
