At Vitae Fertility, we teach the Marquette Method. It's easy to learn, highly effective, and taught by RNs.

The Marquette Method is a type of Natural Family Planning which uses Clearblue Fertility Monitors to precisely track your LH and estrogen levels. Vitae Fertility Education is run by a Registered Nurse trained as an instructor of the Marquette Method of Natural Family Planning. By tracking the hormone levels in a woman's body throughout her menstrual cycle the woman is able to identify the time in her cycle in which she is fertile. She can use this information to achieve or avoid pregnancy or to track hormone imbalances she may be experiencing. The Marquette Method boasts the highest efficacy rates of the mainstream NFP methods, outranking Billings, Creighton, and Symptothermal! In regular cycles it is 99% effective at avoiding pregnancy when used with an instructor, and when used during the breastfeeding/postpartum phase it is 98% effective. The Marquette Method utilizes urinary hormone levels and can detect the fertile window more accurately than most other methods. A more accurate detection of the fertile window means less days of abstinence per cycle! In-person courses are available at this time, and online courses will be available in the next few months. Individual and group sessions are offered, with discounted rates for group sessions (5 couples or more).

🙋‍♀️ Meet Jenn Sikes, RN, MMCP: wife, homeschooling mama, garden lover, and big fan of good conversation around a full table!

Jenn started in women’s health at The Birth Center, then went looking for answers about her own fertility.

After a miscarriage, careful charting helped uncover a luteal phase defect; with treatment, she went on to have a healthy pregnancy. Later, she discovered the Marquette Method and loved it for its objectivity. With the help of an instructor and a NaPro physician, Jenn finally got the right diagnosis: PCOS.

Once her PCOS was managed, her cycles became clear and predictable. Marquette has served her through postpartum, breastfeeding, and regular cycles.

Now Jenn teaches Marquette to help women advocate for their health and help couples cooperate with their God-given fertility with prudence and joy.

❓We’re often asked: “Is it better to use the Clearblue or Mira monitor with Marquette?”

👉 Short answer: for most women, especially in regular cycles or breastfeeding, Clearblue is the right tool.

Marquette’s effectiveness data and established protocols are based on using the Clearblue monitor.

Mira can help in select cases, but it’s still experimental (no published effectiveness research yet; provisional protocols may change). Primarily we’ll start with Clearblue, and transition our clients to Mira if Clearblue isn’t doing the trick!

Some couples prefer to use Mira, even though it is still experimental - if you’re one of those women, we can teach you how to use Mira!
