At Vitae Fertility, we teach the Marquette Method. It's easy to learn, highly effective, and taught by RNs.

The Marquette Method is a type of Natural Family Planning which uses Clearblue Fertility Monitors to precisely track your LH and estrogen levels. Vitae Fertility Education is run by a Registered Nurse trained as an instructor of the Marquette Method of Natural Family Planning. By tracking the hormone levels in a woman's body throughout her menstrual cycle the woman is able to identify the time in

her cycle in which she is fertile. She can use this information to achieve or avoid pregnancy or to track hormone imbalances she may be experiencing. The Marquette Method boasts the highest efficacy rates of the mainstream NFP methods, outranking Billings, Creighton, and Symptothermal! In regular cycles it is 99% effective at avoiding pregnancy when used with an instructor, and when used during the breastfeeding/postpartum phase it is 98% effective. The Marquette Method utilizes urinary hormone levels and can detect the fertile window more accurately than most other methods. A more accurate detection of the fertile window means less days of abstinence per cycle! In-person courses are available at this time, and online courses will be available in the next few months. Individual and group sessions are offered, with discounted rates for group sessions (5 couples or more).

When I started teaching, I realized Marquette needed a user manual that didn’t exist yet - something that explained the research, rules, and nuances of the method in everyday language.

So I wrote it:

Can I say something a little bold? 😏

“Pretty sure” isn’t a fertility strategy.

When I was postpartum with our second baby and tracking with a mucus method, I used to say at the end of the day: “I’m pretty sure today’s available.”

And then I’d hold my breath 😨

“Pretty sure” isn’t reassuring when you’re up to your eyeballs in diapers and in desperate for some peace of mind.

When we switched to Marquette, everything changed.

“I desperately needed to understand my fertility and space my pregnancies.”

❓Aren’t all NFP methods basically the same?
❗Nope! Allow us to explain!

Let’s clarify a few things: Yes, all NFP methods aim to identify the fertile window. But they go about it in very different ways.

👉 Mucus methods rely on physical signs
👉 Calendar methods track cycle timing (like period apps)
👉 Some methods track temperature
👉 Marquette tracks hormone levels directly using a fertility monitor

By tracking different bioindicators of fertility, each method of NFP is looking at the woman’s body from a slightly different angle.

Every method is also different in how easy or hard it is, how simple or frustrating it is, how much abstinence will need to be observed to successfully avoid pregnancy, and yes, every method is different in how effective it is.

💚 What sets Marquette apart? It’s effective, objective, and flexible, even in harder-to-track phases like postpartum or perimenopause.
