On the International Day of Families, we recognize that families come in many forms, including foster, reunified, and chosen families, each built on care, connection, and support. At CarePros, we focus on strengthening these connections, with a strong commitment to family reunification and helping create safe, stable environments where children and caregivers can thrive.

Through consistent support and guidance, we’ve seen families rebuild trust, reconnect, and move forward together in meaningful ways. Every step toward reunification is a step toward stability, belonging, and long-term well-being.

Strong families look different for everyone, but every family deserves the opportunity to grow, heal, and stay connected.

This Mother’s Day, we celebrate all forms of motherhood, including biological, adoptive, foster, and chosen family roles, recognizing the care and connection that define them. Mothering is often rooted in resilience and emotional labour that can go unseen, shaping strong and supportive environments for others. If you can, take a moment today to reach out and connect with the mother figure in your life.

Caregiving often begins in small, quiet ways—stepping in to help, offering support, being there when it matters. Over time, those moments grow into something much bigger: steady care, presence, and commitment.

As a proud partner of Caregivers Alberta, CarePros is committed to recognizing and supporting unpaid family and friend caregivers across the province. National Caregiver Awareness Month is a reminder that these contributions often go unseen, even though they hold families and communities together.

Taking time to acknowledge that dedication matters. It helps remind caregivers that they are not alone in what they carry every day.

Yesterday, our team gathered to acknowledge Red Dress Day and honour the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people.

We took time to listen, learn, and reflect on the ongoing impacts of violence and systemic injustice faced by Indigenous communities. Meaningful change begins with awareness, education, and continued action toward creating safer communities for everyone.

Red Dress Day is a reminder that remembrance must be followed by accountability, advocacy, and commitment to change.

Today is Red Dress Day, a day of remembrance and awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people (MMIWG2S).

Across Canada, red dresses are displayed in public spaces as powerful symbols. Each empty dress represents a life that was taken, a voice that was silenced, and a story that deserves to be heard. The red colour was chosen because it is believed to be the only colour spirits can see, calling them back to be honoured and remembered.

This day is not only about reflection, but also about recognition of the ongoing impacts of colonialism, systemic violence, and inequality faced by Indigenous communities. It is a call to listen, to learn, and to support meaningful change.

Mental Health Week is a reminder that taking care of your mental health is just as important as taking care of your physical health.

Too often, people struggle in silence because of stigma or the belief that they have to “push through.” But the truth is, reaching out for support is not a sign of weakness. It is a sign of strength.

For caregivers, it can feel natural to put others first. But your well-being matters too. Caregiver fatigue is real, and constantly supporting others without tending to your own needs can take a serious toll on your mental and emotional well-being.

Having honest conversations about mental health helps break down stigma and reminds us that no one has to face challenges alone. It’s okay to not be okay, and it’s okay to ask for help.

We’re hiring Child and Youth Care Workers in Red Deer.

This is a role where showing up fully present can shape a child’s sense of safety, trust, and belonging. You’ll build meaningful connections, support youth through challenges, and create moments of stability through play, mentorship, and consistent care.

The work is hands-on and rooted in trauma-informed practice, supporting children and youth with complex emotional and behavioural needs. It takes patience, accountability, and heart, but it offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact in a young person’s life.
