As of May 20, 2020, our naturopathic doctors are now able to take appointments in office for new patients. We will be practicing with many new procedures including masks, strict disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, social distancing, and pre-screening surveys for staff and patients to ensure everyone's safety. Follow-up appointments will still be done through telemedicine (phone or video conference) whenever possible. Due to the wide spread of COVID-19, we have had to close our clinic to all in-person appointments. Thankfully, we are able to treat our current patients via phone and video consultation. However, unfortunately we are unable to take on new patients using these telemedicine formats at this time. All potential new patients can call the clinic at 780-962-2423 and be added to a waitlist which will be scheduled when we are back in the clinic. For all current patients, staff members are still working hard at Back on Track, so continue to call the office to book follow up appointments as needed. Guiding patients through an elimination diet is one of my FAVOURITE things to do. I know that sounds crazy, but it is so empowering for people to finally pin point which food has been causing their bloating/headaches/acne/joint pain etc etc for all these years. It's a great start to many of our naturopathic treatment plans - and it's not as hard as it sounds! This does a great job of explaining the basics, but it's good to ask one of us for help designing your own individualized elimination and challenge plan. If it's not done right, you won't get much benefit out of it!

Here is a great article discussing fevers in children. Although a high fever can be scary for parents, keep in mind that a fever signals a strong immune response to help kids fight bad bugs so it's not always in their best interest to suppress a fever with medication. The most important thing to watch is how your child is looking or feeling! However, its never normal for a newborn up to 3 months of age to have a fever so seek medical advice in these instances.
