Mu Sigma Chapter

Mu Sigma Chapter Formed on March 24, 1992, Mu Sigma Chapter is the 304th chapter established at Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

The mission of Sigma Theta Tai International Honor Society of Nursing (STTI) is to improve the health of people worldwide by increasing the scientific base of nursing practice. Its members are nurses committed to the pursuit of excellence in clinical practice, education, research and leadership. Benefits of Membership:

History was made on May 7, 2026, as the Mu Sigma Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing proudly inducted 19 exceptional nurse leaders, scholars, educators, researchers, and changemakers into our global community of nursing excellence.

You’ve worked hard to distinguish yourself in nursing through scholarship, leadership, practice, or research. Now it’s time to be recognized among a global community of nurse leaders and scholars.

The Mu Sigma Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing invites applications from:
• Undergraduate and graduate nursing students with demonstrated academic excellence
• Nurses who have shown exceptional leadership in practice, education, or research

Successful applicants will be inducted at the 2026 Mu Sigma Induction Ceremony on Thursday, May 7, 2026.

Last month, the Mu Sigma Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing hosted an Interdisciplinary Academic Seminar on Aging and Care of the Elderly at the University of Alberta.

The seminar brought together scholars, clinicians, and students to share research, lived experiences, and innovative approaches to improving care for older adults and their caregivers.

Dr. Lori Pollard explores pre-death grief among female spousal caregivers of people living with dementia, revealing grief as a fluctuating, deeply human experience shaped by loss, resilience, and moments of relief.
