Dr. Lori Pollard explores pre-death grief among female spousal caregivers of people living with dementia, revealing grief as a fluctuating, deeply human experience shaped by loss, resilience, and moments of relief.

Nick Anthony Millar is a PhD candidate in the Faculty of Nursing with research focused on older adults’ participation in age-friendly care models.

Nick Anthony Millar’s research challenges traditional engagement models and calls for more flexible, inclusive ways for older persons to meaningfully participate in Age-Friendly Care (AFC) design.

Sadaf Murad-Kassam is a PhD candidate in the Faculty of Nursing and a Registered Nurse with a focus on culturally responsive dementia care.

Sadaf Murad-Kassam’s research centres the voices of South Asian and Arab communities to uncover gaps in hospital care and advocate for culturally responsive, equity-driven dementia practices.

Family caregivers provide most post-discharge care, so why are they often left out of discharge planning?

Linda-Ann Elobuike is a Clinical Instructor at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Mount Royal University and the founder of Fearless Strides.

She will present a practical, nurse-led caregiver partnering discharge bundle designed to reduce post-discharge crises, caregiver strain, and social isolation in older adults.
