Manual Osteopathic Treatment at River Stone is a form of hands-on manual treatment that is used to eliminate or alleviate somatic (bodily) dysfunctions.

These dysfunctions may involve skeletal, joint and myofascial structures as well as the related vascular, lymphatic and neural elements. Stretching, resistance, and gentle pressure work together to promote healing, reduce tension, recover from surgery, lower stress levels, increase mobility, and decrease inflammation.

There are three main components of manual osteopathy: musculoskeletal osteoarticulations, visceral and craniosacral.

Our laser is the industry leader for efficacy and comfort. Please book a consult with us so we can discuss your needs and assess your skin.

In areas with dense follicles it may feel like a snap from an elastic band. Our laser emits a short burst of liquid nitrogen before the laser pulse to help cool the skin and reduce any snapping sensation. Most people find the treatment comfortable and easy.

Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS), or dry needling, is a treatment used in physiotherapy to target muscles and fascia in a specific area in order to reduce pain and regain proper functioning of muscles and tissues.

Treatments are usually done once a week, and relief can be felt after only the first treatment! Within about 8 to ten sessions your injury should begin to settle, and you can get back to yourself.

At River Stone our practitioners are UnPain certified shockwave specialists! The therapy uses acoustic pulses (not electrical!) that are made using compressed air. The pulses pass through the skin and into the tissue to reduce hypertonicity in the muscle and stimulate a regeneration process. As specialists, we know how to address your pain or injury without causing you more pain from the treatment.

Shockwave can be used to treat a variety of musculoskeletal conditions.

What is Rapid NeuroFascial Reset?

This technique originates in Canada, and it is designed to alter tissue tension and desensitize the nerves in a problem area. Our therapists will use neurological-based protocols to reduce tension and inflammation in muscles, nerves, tendons and ligaments of the entire body.

Your therapist will discuss with you how often and how many treatment you may need. Sometimes 3-5 treatments is all that may be needed, while for more chronic conditions up to 8-10 treatments may be indicated.

Research has shown that injuries affect the deep framework of the body, causing bones and deep fascia to become enlarged and rigid. Consequently, this causes protracted tension and strain on soft tissues, such as muscles, ligaments and tendons. A bio-electric assessment allows the CMRP to determine precisely where the affected deep structures are located. Hands-on techniques then allow the layers of of injury to be literally re-patterned. This treatment addresses pain and injury from the inside out.
