Well my journey down hell began New Years 2006/2007 when my 18 year old at the time had his face kicked in with steel toe boots, so bad neurologist said one more kick he would have been dead. Oct 5 of that same year I was diagnosed with breast cancer. How horrifying to hear those words, Oct 9 I was at the surgeons and Oct 19 , 2007 I had surgery. I wanted both the twins (girls, bo***es) removed he insisted on a lumpectomy. So after 4 chemo treatments that left me deathly ill (2 were cancelled due to heart going crazy) 26 rounds of radiation treatments and onto 5 years of chemo drugs.. we thought the journey would be getting better, not so I received a call I had to go back for a mastectomy as the cancer had spread to the lymph nodes, needless to say I was very upset and still wanted them to take both again I was told no. So after the mastectomy I went through many complications and more then 8 surgeries trying to control the seromas forming in my body. I tried going back to my job at Safeway Dr suggested 3 five hour shifts a week, after each shift my chest had to be emptied with a needle to remove the fluid collecting. Eventually Dr said it was not doing my body any good and booked me off again. Well as it is chemo not only destroys the bad cells it harms good tissue and joints also. In 2012 I was informed I needed a hip replacement and many more surgeries. So one day after I had surgery on a Thursday , some newbie in Safeways human resources phoned me, in a cheery voice this Roland, Hi Yolanda how are you doing , to which I replied, not bad I just had surgery yesterday and have 2 draining tubes hanging off my chest, to which he replied in a totally different tone, well this won't be a good call then your termination is in the mail you should have it Monday. Nice fu***ng good bye and thanks for 30 plus years of service. No the Union basically did s**t for me...
