The IAOM is delighted to announce a significant shift in our organization including our course offerings, now available for membership and certification. This expansion not only includes a wide range of exceptional US courses but also incorporates courses from esteemed institutions abroad, marking a pivotal step forward for our organization.
The decision to broaden our course selection is underpinned by the imperative to ensure that students receive the highest quality education, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully navigate the certification process. As an established organization with over 50 years of history, our unwavering commitment to providing thorough education, fostering membership, and facilitating certification remains paramount to our mission. The IAOM maintains its stringent certification process for eligible professionals ensuring the highest standards of expertise and practice in orofacial myofunctional therapy.
Furthermore, the restructuring of our infrastructure reflects a fundamental shift in focus towards our members and the organic growth of our community. We deeply value the dedication and altruism of our member volunteers, and with these organizational changes, we aim to redirect their invaluable time and passion towards furthering our collective objectives. By alleviating volunteer responsibilities related to educational courses, paperwork review, and continuing education submissions, we create the space for them to engage more meaningfully in the heart of our organization.
While these changes have understandably sparked some initial resistance, we firmly believe that this inclusive approach will ultimately lead to the expansion and enhancement of our membership. It's important to acknowledge and address any concerns that arise from these shifts, and we remain steadfast in our conviction that this strategic evolution aligns with our core objective of inclusivity and sustainable community growth, a principle that has always been at the heart of our organization.
