We can’t do this alone, and we weren’t meant to. At Harmony, we believe in inspiring interdependence, and that journey begins within our own communities. Yesterday’s conference was a powerful reminder that while the road of caregiving and mental health can be isolating, we are each other’s greatest resource.
Here are key takeaways from our time together.
🏥 The system can be overwhelming. Remember: when seeking support, share your worst day, not your best. If they see perfection, they won’t see the need.
🤓 We know our loved ones’ care plans by heart—but do you know yours? Your mental, emotional, and spiritual needs matter.
🚫 Boundaries = Self-Respect. A boundary is an expectation of how YOU want to be treated. It starts with you.
👴🏽 Generations view mental health differently. Learn the signs of struggle in our elders who may not have the words to ask for help.
🧠 Walking the same circle won’t lead to a new destination. It’s time to try a different path.
❤️🩹 Acknowledge the grief that happens before the loss. It is real and it is valid.
💫 Sometimes, the smallest moments matter most when they are filled with intention.
To the incredible organizers at and all the inspiring speakers who shared their wisdom and lived experiences - thank you for making this space possible. Your dedication is what fuels this community and helps us all move forward, together.
