When it comes to near sightedness, it is key to have your child assessed yearly for early intervention. This may mean that your child is seen every 6 months to review that their prescription has not changed.

Calla is one of many of our pediatric patients who has myopia (near sightedness), and we want to share her story on how the Zeiss Myocare lenses have impacted her vision.

"Calla has had myopia from a young age. At her comprehensive eye exam in 2023, we decided to try a new myopia control lens from Zeiss. She had lots of fun trying on frames to find the perfect ones for her new lenses.
Calla's first week of wearing the new lenses was surprisingly easy for her to adapt to the new design. She would see occasional 'movement' in the lenses, but told me that "she can now see everything!"
Calla was seen for a follow up after 3 months of wearing the new lens design. We are excited to report that her prescription was stable!! For the first time since being prescribed glasses, Calla did not need to update/change her prescription.
We understand that Calla will always have myopia, and that she will require updates to her prescription as she grows. But it is so wonderful to feel that we won't need to increase her prescription every 3-6 months! Calla loves her new glasses. We are so happy to have the team at Jagare Ridge Vision Care supporting Calla's visual journey, and making sure that her vision develops to the best of her potential".
