Taking babies foot prints for a keepsake is a lovely thing we enjoy doing for parents. Today our Full Circle doula, Sonya spent the day with this sweet little one and their mama, while she was getting in a shower, Sonya snuck in some stamping. Such sweet little feet! Keep growing well little one!

Babies love looking at bold patterns and having floor time looking at a vibrant book helps with brain development. reading aloud to children from infancy supports early literacy and language development. The rhythm and melody of your voice, even more than the content, can be soothing and stimulating for a newborn’s developing brain. 🗣️Comment below what book was a favourite in your household.

✨ Setting Boundaries for Visitors in Early Postpartum ✨
Bringing home your baby is such a precious time, full of love, adjustment, and care. 🍼 But it’s also important to protect your space and energy during those early postpartum days. Here are some things to consider when thinking about visitors:
🌿 Set Clear Boundaries: Decide what you’re comfortable with before baby arrives. You might want some quiet bonding time as a family, and that’s totally okay. Communicate this with loved ones early so everyone knows your wishes.
🤧 Create a Sickness Policy: The health of your newborn is your priority. Ask visitors to postpone their visit if they’re feeling unwell or have been exposed to illness, no matter how minor it may seem. It’s a simple but important way to protect your baby.
🗓️ Timing is Everything: Let people know in advance when you’re open to visitors. Some families prefer no visitors for the first few weeks, while others may appreciate short visits after a few days. Feel free to change your mind as you adjust!
💖 Ask for Support: If you do have visitors, it’s okay to ask them to bring food or help with chores rather than expecting you to host. Your focus is on your recovery and bonding with your baby.
Remember, it’s your journey and your boundaries. It’s okay to put your well-being first. Have these conversations now to create a smoother transition for you and your growing family. ✨

One of the first challenges you’ll face as a parent of a newborn is figuring out whether your newborn is hungry or just dealing with gas. It can be tricky to tell, sometimes, it can leave you feeling confused and guessing.
Here are a few helpful tips to understand your baby’s needs:
✨ Hunger Cues:
💧 Smacking or licking lips
👅 Sucking on hands or fingers
😩 Rooting (turning head toward a touch on their cheek)
💕 Fidgeting or becoming more alert
If these signs are showing up before a feed, it’s a good indicator that your baby is ready to eat!
✨ Gas Signs:
💨 Squirming and wriggling after or during the feeding
🦶 Pulling legs up to their chest
😣 Grunting or passing gas
👶 Looking uncomfortable or irritable post-feeding
To help with gas, try gentle tummy massages, bicycle leg exercises, or holding your baby upright for a few minutes after feeds.
Remember, babies are learning to communicate too! With time, you’ll get even better at recognizing their cues. 🌟
Trust yourself, you’ve got this! 🙌

For all the pumping milk folks out there, here is a good resource to consider in your pumping milk regimen.
Would you like an effective method for pumping more milk? Until 2009, most of us assumed that when a mother used a breast pump, the pump should do all of the milk-removal work. But this changed when Jane Morton and her colleagues published a ground-breaking study in the Journal of Perinatology. The m...

We are a heart based practice, serving families since 1998
We recognize the importance of reliable support in the postpartum period as you adjust to caring for your little one, tending to his or her needs, your own self care and healing and the other demands that this all brings.
Having someone who can help ease this adjustment and support you in a non judgemental manner can make this journey seem less daunting and more satisfying.
Motherhood can be confusing and intimidating at time, even for the most experienced mothers. New mothers often fear making a wrong decision or not knowing how to best care for their infant. With so many families living far away or busy work schedules, postpartum moms aren’t getting the nurturing support that they need to help them feel more confident and secure in their mothering skills or managing their needs of self care and rest.
This is where our team comes in. We provide the support you need, when you need it
Wether you are starting a family or a seasoned parent already, having a baby brings with it uncertainty and adjustments.
