It's been a while since we last posted, but we're going to revive our Facebook activity!

Hope everyone has had a wonderful Easter weekend and is looking forward to an excellent start to April!

Look for some updates coming in the next week.

This is our first post in a good long while!

We have continued serving our patients throughout COVID and are back to nearly-normal operations.

There are a few updates that we need to share, as so much has happened over the course of the last couple of years. You'll find information on COVID, the Respironics device recall and the Respironics magnetic mask field safety notification below:

- Updates Bulletin -

- COVID (As of October 2022) -

To ensure that our clientele and patients are safe, we are continuing to mask (when able to) and sanitize the clinic, and will continue this for the foreseeable future. We are not expecting our patients to mask.

As well, we are still encouraging our patients to call and book appointments in advance (if possible), so that we don't have overlap and the potential for waiting. Walk-in traffic is absolutely fine as well; we're just hoping to make your visit easy, timely and comfortable!

- Respironics Device Recall -

As many of you are aware, in July of 2021 Respironics (Philips) announced the recall of a number of their therapy devices, most notably the Dreamstation. This recall is ongoing, and will be for an indefinite amount of time still. We are starting to receive and distribute replacement devices, however the quantities are small and the exchange process is time-consuming. The process by which Respironics is facilitating these exchanges is via a "registered affected serial numbered device is attached to a remediation serial number device" method. In other words, we are receiving remediation devices that are pre-allocated to particular individuals with affected devices. We have to contact them, facilitate the exchange of the devices, and send back the affected device to Respironics. This can take quite a while to facilitate, and we do not receive additional remediation devices until the present allotment has been disbursed and the affected machines have been sent back to Respironics. As you can imagine, this is a time-intensive process, and we appreciate your patience as we work through this.

Alternate methods of providing devices to patients in a more timely manner have been suggested to Respironics, however they have not been open to deviating from this plan.

- Respironics Magnetic Mask Field Safety Notification -

In addition to the device recall, there is a new issue that has been identified related to Respironics magnetic masks. In short and emphasizing the most important information, for those that have implanted devices like pacemakers, etc, the magnets in some Respironics masks may interfere with the functionality of them.

We will be sharing more information on our website and here about this situation, so please look for it soon and if you have any questions, reach out to us.

- End Of Updates Bulletin -

Outside of the above, we are continuing to serve our patients to the best of our abilities during trying times. Please understand that we do care about our patient family very much, and are striving to ensure that your well-being is top of mind every day for us.

As an aside, we hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful autumn that we've been blessed with so far!

Some people being screened for COVID-19 in Edmonton are being tested from inside their own vehicles. Alberta Health Services has opened a new drive-thru clinic to test for COVID-19 in Edmonton. The clinic, which opened on Sunday, is one of three sites medical staff are referring people with symptoms...

We hope you're having a great and healthy start to your Saturday!

That said, we need to talk about the challenge that we are all facing.

As per the ongoing SARS-COVID-19 situation, we'd like to update those that follow our page here on the measures that we are putting in place presently.

Starting today, we will be requesting that anyone that is intending on visiting the clinic, either scheduled or drop-in, conducts a self-assessment (link below). If you could be a possible carrier of coronavirus, please do not come to the clinic. Our recommendation in that circumstance is to contact Health Link (dial 811) and follow their protocol. Additionally, if you are in severe need of replacement product, contact us and we will arrange for a delivery method to your door.

We are also taking extra precautionary measures at the clinic to ensure that all surfaces are disinfected on a regular basis, as well as protocols that the staff should follow in the case of illness or a visitor that shows symptoms.

We appreciate your understanding as we continue to operate through this situation. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call or email us at any time.

If any further changes will be happening, we will communicate it out to you.

Please note: You do not need to be tested for COVID-19 if in the past 14 days you have not traveled outside Canada or had contact with someone diagnosed as having COVID-19.
