AlphaMEDICS is a local, family owned and operated medical first response and first aid business that operates in the Alberta Capital Region around Edmonton. AlphaMEDICS was founded in late 2015 by brothers Adam and Matthew in a residential suburb of Edmonton . The company was made to facilitate basic medical and first aid coverage for local community events such as sports tournaments, social gathe

rings and festivals. AlphaMEDICS staff are trained to a minimum of Standard First Aid and CPR Level C, however there are members with much higher levels of training in EMS and emergency medicine. We provide basic medical care and first aid on a contract basis for many different events.

The entire team at AlphaMEDICS would like to offer our sincere condolences, support, and love to the family and friends of South Pigeon Lake Fire Department Fire Chief Wayne Benson.

Chief Benson spent the better part of his adult life serving the communities of South Pigeon Lake and Mulhurst Bay as a member of the local fire departments, eventually working his way up through the ranks all the way to the position of Fire Chief.

Chief Benson was known for his dedication to his community, love for his neighbours, and most of all - his longtime service in his local fire departments!

On behalf of the medics, volunteers, and supporters of AlphaMEDICS, I send our best wishes and support to the entire Benson family, the South Pigeon Lake and Mulhurst Bay Fire Departments, the community at large that benefited from Chief Benson’s service, and every single person that was impacted by Fire Chief Wayne Benson!

Chief Benson, thank you for your decades of service and leadership! The Firefighter Community has lost a tremendous asset and a great human being!

Rest easy, sir! 🇨🇦 🇨🇦

AlphaMEDICS would like to extend our thoughts and best wishes to the individual who experienced a medical emergency at tonight’s Battle of Alberta hockey game between the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames.

We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the amazing medical professionals and emergency crews who did not hesitate to jump into action when a member of the audience collapsed just minutes into the game. Medical staff and Physicians from both hockey clubs were quickly joined by paramedics in the stands behind the player’s bench as they quickly worked to move the patient out of public view. The spectator continued to receive life saving care as medics prepared to leave for hospital.

Situations such as this reaffirm the importance of having properly trained and equipped medical personnel at large gatherings and events. We can only hope that the quick response and professional care provided by medics will lead to a positive outcome in this instance. It is also a great opportunity to remind everyone the importance of learning CPR. Cardiac Arrest can happen at any time to any one, and learning this important, life saving skill can literally mean the difference between life and death!

Our AlphaMEDICS family join the rest of Oil Country in supporting the friends and loved ones of our fellow hockey fan involved in tonight’s unfortunate events. You are all in our thoughts!!

I was asked to send a short reflection of my time in Jasper: Anxiety. It is one of those things that it is inevitable to feel walking into a situation that you’ve never been in before.
