Yoga isn’t just something you do, it’s something you can share with the people you love the most (like your real or chosen family!).
Yoga can build connection, calm and a little more kindness, for ourselves and each other.
Happy Family Day!

Love and Yoga: Happy Valentine’s Day
Yoga isn’t just about physical poses… it’s a mind-body-spirit connection. Through this personal growth and connecting to self, yoga teaches us to embrace love: for ourselves, for others and for the world around us.
Through mindfulness and movement, we cultivate compassion, gratitude, and harmony, discovering that love is the ultimate thread weaving us together.
Let love guide your practice, both on and off the mat.

The next Core Curriculum/Upgrading classes are January 24 & 25 and will focus on preparatory poses and modifications (Jan 24) and basic and equalizing poses (Jan 25).
What is a core curriculum class? These are weekend workshops that are the building blocks of our YAA Yoga Teacher Training Program.

👉Recertification
👉Advanced Training Levels (500, 750, 1000 hours)
The curriculum follows a yearly cycle, allowing new students to join at any time. Everyone is welcome!
You can get started on your journey anytime with readings and preparation. Email admin@yoga.ca to get more information or visit our website for details.

How can I “shop local” and support our yoga community here in Alberta?
❤ Rather than take a yoga class from a “celebrity” teacher on YouTube, consider the hundreds of qualified and LOCAL yoga teachers we have in this province, doing both online and in-person classes. Visit our TEACHER DIRECTORY to find someone near you.
❤ Purchase your yoga props from our yoga store - we source as close to home as possible for our products (some are even made in Alberta), and just shopping with us helps us fund our outreach programs.
❤ Consider joining a local advocacy organization like ours! Sign up for a membership to the YAA and you’re supporting yoga in Alberta through Outreach Programs, teacher and student training programs, and much more. Your membership has so many perks, including a full library of recordings of different classes and professional development webinars that you can watch anytime (full and lifetime members only).
Turbulent times help remind us what is important - building our communities and spreading the benefits of yoga!
