The Dreisinger Funeral Home has been caring for Elmira and the surrounding communities for over 115 years as a full service, family-owned funeral home. Funeral directors Rebecca Steckly and Laura Riley recently purchased the funeral home in 2020, and together with Grace Maher, continue the Dreisinger legacy of serving families with compassion and integrity. You will find them, and their team, to be compassionate, friendly, creative and accommodating - prepared to help in every way possible. Dreisinger Funeral Home is a full service funeral home, offering pre-need, at need, and aftercare services. Pre-arrangements can be made for your funeral, whether you choose to pre-pay or simply have your information kept on file. At need services include packages for immediate cremation, a memorial service, or a traditional funeral service with visitation. It is our goal that we exceed your expectations.

🌟 Record-Breaking Year for Our Food Drive! 🌟

Every year Dreisinger Funeral Home teams up with St. Teresa of Avila School to collect items for the Woolwich Community Services Food Bank — and what an incredible year it was! Together, we gathered over 4,000 food and personal care items, making three full trips to deliver everything to the food bank!

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, helped sort, and packed items. Special shout-out to our MVPs — four amazing students who brought in over 800 items on their own!

We’re so proud of our community’s generosity and spirit. What a fun and inspiring year! ❤️

✨ A Milestone of 120 Years ✨

We were honoured to recently receive a certificate from Mayor Sandy Shantz and Kurtis Wells, Economic Development Officer from Woolwich Township, recognizing 120 years of dedicated service at Dreisinger Funeral Home.

It was a wonderful time filled with cake, stories, and memories shared among friends, staff, and community members.

We are deeply grateful for the trust and support we’ve received over generations. As we celebrate this milestone and look toward the future, we remain committed to providing the same level of care and compassion that has guided Dreisinger Funeral Home since 1905.

Join the Dreisinger staff for a game of Plinko and our famous Lemonade Rice Krispie squares with all proceeds going to support Hearts Open For Everyone and the wonderful work they do for the community! Grief touches every life across every culture and community — often in ways words can’t fully express. That’s why we’re truly honoured to support H.O.P.E. (Hearts Open for Everyone) as they present "Graceful Transitions: Navigating Grief, Aging, and Cultural Care."

This meaningful community seminar is happening on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 5:30–9:00 PM at Elmira District Community Living, and we’d love to see you there.

The evening will be filled with thoughtful conversations, shared stories, and insights into how culture, identity, and life experiences shape the way we grieve and prepare for life’s changes.

It’s free, open to everyone, and dinner is provided — because community and conversation is meant to be shared around the table.
