Good info for any pool goers and local pool facilities when it comes to supporting nursing families...
🌊 Here are some key points about breast milk and pool safety:
• A small amount of breast milk may enter the water but won't significantly deactivate chlorine.
• The CDC doesn't consider breast milk a bodily fluid of concern.
• Babies over two months old are less likely to have a bowel movement in the water.
• Spitting up is more common in formula-fed babies.
• Any “spit up” is considered a “clean” substance and, unlike stool, isn't colonized with E. coli.
