Love this!

Today was one of those moments that reminds me exactly why I love what I do.

A young patient came into the clinic for her very first custom swim plug and when it came time to pay, she proudly pulled out a little green piece of paper she had written on herself: “$100$”.

It wasn’t about the money, it was about her independence, her excitement, and the way she understood how important it is to take care of her ears.

Moments like these make everything worth it.

Hearing health is for everyone, and stories like hers make it personal.

In this video, I explore how hearing loss impacts our ability to understand speech, often in unexpected ways. I illustrate this with a graphic showing that while normal hearing allows for clear comprehension, even mild hearing loss can lead to missing words and filling in gaps. As the severity increases, understanding becomes increasingly difficult, with severe profound loss making it nearly impossible to grasp the message. I want to emphasize that when someone says, "I can hear you, but I can't understand you," it's not a matter of attention but rather the limitations of their hearing. I encourage everyone to be mindful of these challenges and to consider how we communicate with those who may be experiencing hearing loss.

Well folks, it’s been 4 years! I can’t believe how fast these last 4 years have flown by, but what an amazing time it has been. I am so grateful to everyone who has supported me.

Whether you are a patient, a family member or friend, my amazing team- I could never thank you enough!
Time to celebrate 🎉

Tomorrow I will be doing in-clinic free hearing aid trials, so if you have been thinking about how hearing aids would sound- tomorrow is the perfect day to come in and try!

Plus- we are giving away 2 $200 giftcards to Geddes St. Market, so come on in and put your name in the draw and enjoy some goodies while you are here.

We are also doing a food drive that will be ending this Friday, December 15th, so that I can drop off the items in time for Christmas.

I am so excited to announce that I will be celebrating the 3 year anniversary of opening the clinic here in Elora! I want to thank all of my supporters who have been with me along the way.

To all of my patients who I get the pleasure of seeing everyday and have gotten to know you and your families. You are the reason I love coming into work everyday. Thank you for opening up your life to me and always making me smile. You have become so near and dear to my heart.

Thank you to my amazing team; Albert, Daren, Sylvia, Patricia and Deidre, for helping me grow professionally and personally, you are such a big part of my success.

To everyone who I have met through the network, thank you for the amazing memories at different manufacturer events and conferences and for being able to relate to so many things in our lives. I know I can come to any of you in a time of need.

This upcoming Tuesday, December 13th, I will be in the office with coffee and yummy treats to celebrate. If you pop by for a visit you will be entered into a draw for a local business goodie basket. Very excited to share with everyone that I am hosting an open house at the office for anyone who would like to check out the latest hearing aid technology!! If you are on the hunt for a new set, looking for your first pair or aren’t sure at all if you even need hearing aids, this open house is the perfect opportunity to come and ask questions. There will be a manufacturer representative present and is happy to answer any questions and even fit you with live demos during your visit.

The dates are:
Wednesday, May 18th: 8:30am-4:30pm
Thursday, May 19th: 8:30am-7:00pm

Come on in for some drinks, treats and enter yourself in a draw for some local prizes. If you purchase a set of hearing aids during the open house, I will enter you in a draw to win the set and get a full refund!
