Did you know that behind every foot care appointment, there are hours of work you never see?

From complex scheduling and meticulous clinical documentation to sterilizing medical equipment and managing invoices, foot care nurses do it all. And the reality? Most of this essential behind-the-scenes work is completed entirely during unpaid hours.

According to Statistics Canada, about 3 in 10 employees in nursing work overtime, and many of these hours go unpaid. For self-employed foot care nurses, every hour spent on administration is an hour not spent seeing patients or generating income.

Foot care nurses provide an indispensable service, preventing severe complications like ulcers and infections, and keeping vulnerable populations mobile and out of the hospital. But the true scope of their work extends far beyond the clinic.

A little note for all my new and current clients... 💛

I know when you first book in with me, the questionnaire and all my questions can feel a little overwhelming, especially when you're thinking "I just need my nails sorted!"

But here's why I ask:

💊 Your medications matter. Certain blood thinners mean even the smallest nick could lead to significant bleeding. I need to know this before I start.

🩺 Conditions like diabetes and poor circulation mean your feet need extra special care. Wounds that seem minor can become serious very quickly and I want to make sure that never happens on my watch.

❤️ Heart conditions, circulation issues, and other health concerns all affect how I treat your feet safely and effectively.

I also want new clients to know I am not just here to cut nails. During every appointment I am also checking for early signs of infections, skin changes, circulation problems, and anything that might need further attention. You'd be surprised what your feet can tell us about your overall health!

For my returning clients, keeping your details up to date is so important too. If your medications or health have changed since your last visit, please do let me know, it all helps me to give you the best and safest care possible.

Every question I ask comes from one place, wanting to look after YOU properly. 🙌

My bag is full and my feet-loving heart is SO happy right now! 👣🎉

The conference is over and I may have gone a little overboard at the vendor hall. May have. Definitely did. Zero regrets. 😂

I came home with a suitcase full of new tools and supplies that I genuinely cannot wait to bring into my practice, my clients are in for a treat next week! ✨

For the third year in a row, I'll be attending a fantastic Foot Care Conference 🎉, where I'll be learning from experts in the field.

As a nurse specializing in foot care, I know how important it is to stay current on the latest guidelines and best practices 🙏. That's why I'm so excited to attend this conference and network with fellow professionals who share my passion for providing high-quality foot care to our patients 👥.

• 🔄 Gently exfoliates dead skin buildup

How to use it:
• 🛁 Apply after bathing or showering, when skin is slightly damp
• 🧴 Use a small amount and massage into heels and dry areas
