🍁 How to Winterize Your Floating Dock

Winter is coming — here’s how to keep your Cottage Classic Dock safe and ready for spring:

🍃 Loosen the ropes so you can lift the ramp onto the dock.
🍃 Place the ramp on top of your dock.
🍃 Tie a rope to shore. This keeps your dock properly positioned through winter.
🍃 Check rope tension. Snug enough to hold, loose enough to move. Give your dock room as water levels drop and rise.

🍂 We’ll be starting dock unhooks October 20 – November 10 — book now to reserve your spot!

Happy Victoria Day long weekend Kearney!

Although rain is forecasted this weekend, conditions are still very dry, and the fire rating continues to be set at HIGH. Forest fires may be imminent. Use EXTREME caution ⚠️ Remember, Fireworks are prohibited in the Town of Kearney: By-law 2018/24.

Here are a few tips, to help you stay safe this holiday weekend:

🚗 Vehicle Safety
• Avoid distractions: Don’t use your phone, eat, or engage in other activities while driving.
• Drive sober: Alcohol and other forms of impairment, reduce your ability to drive. Always have a designated driver.
• Use caution and drive SOBER while using recreational vehicles such as ATVs and Dirt bikes.

🚤 Water Safety
• Wear a lifejacket, and make sure there is enough for every passenger on the vessel.
• Boat sober: Impaired boating is illegal and dangerous.
• Be prepared: Carry safety gear, check the weather, and inform someone of your plans.

🔥 Cottage Fire Safety
• Inspect your property: Clear debris, check for chewed wires, and ensure all electric and fuel powered equipment are in proper working order.
• Remember to ensure your civic address number is clear and free of obstructions!
• Inspect your fire pit for the season, and make sure it abides by all regulations.
