Hello everyone,
I haven't been on Facebook in almost a year but the time has come for a post.
As many of you know, I listed my house for sale in May. Last week it sold, which means I am now in the process of closing The Health Hut and preparing to move on to my next adventure. It is definitely bittersweet, as I have had such a meaningful experience in this community and with all of the relationships I have built over the years. The yurt has hosted music concerts, craft shows, dance parties, and workshops in addition to several thousands of massages and yoga & fitness classes over the years. The energy you have all brought is soaked into the fabric of the walls and will forever add to its very special vibe. Thank you all for being a part of my life here and for helping me grow. I will always look back on the last 10 years (eight at The Hut and two before that at the Enterprise Hall) with a very warm glow in my heart and a cup filled with gratitude.
In August, my daughter and I will be moving to Denmark, where my husband is from. I will take the next year to complete my master's degree and to do another post-graduate certificate specializing in pain management. Then I'm planning to transition into a research career in pain science and possibly go on to do a PhD. I'm hoping to combine my journalism undergrad and experience, my 10 years of clinical practice and my postgraduate degree in psychology and neuroscience to help improve holistic mind-body methods of managing pain.
My last work day is July 20. I am booked solid with a long wait-list, so it's doubtful that I'll be able to book any new requests at this time. I have contacted a number of therapists who are happy to receive client referrals. Below is a description of each and a link to read more about them or book an appointment. They are waiting for you!
Sending you all light, love and best wishes for health and happiness!

RMTs doing MYOSKELETAL ALIGNMENT THERAPY
Joanna van Benschop: https://www.massagebook.com/Kingston~Massage~jvbrmt
Annemarie Payette: https://greenhavenmassagekingston.com/annemarie-payette/
Joanna and Annemarie have both completed eight days of live Myoskeletal Alignment training at conferences I attended. I have never personally had a massage from either of them, but they should know many of the same techniques as I've been using over the past few years. Joanna is also a massage teacher at Trillium college, her pressure tends to be deep, and she has her own clinic space attached to her home in Kingston. Annemarie is probably the more gentle out of the two. She gives medium pressure and works out of Greenhaven Massage in Kingston.
CHIROPRACTORS
Madelyn Soye and Matthew McGuckin
Chiropractors at Napanee Family First Chiropractic

I would very highly recommend both Madelyn and Matt. They are what I call βsoft chirosβ because they offer a more holistic treatment approach. They incorporate some massage and release techniques in addition to performing adjustments, and usually only use high velocity adjustments as a last resort rather than a go-to. We have shared several clients over the years and have found that we often have the same ideas for treatment approaches. As they are chiropractors, I would try them first for any joint conditions or misalignments.
