CTEWD is a solid non-hazardous waste facility that does not accept the following waste: -Medical -Batteries -Liquids -Radioactive -PCB’s -Sewage -Hazardous -Asbestos -Refrigerants -Beverage Containers -Used Oil -Yards Clippings -Sealed Containers -Ignitable -Paints CTEWD accepts and recycles the following: -Cell phones and cell phones batteries -Rechargeable batteries (AA, AAA, C, D) -All Electronics -Tires -Gently used items being donated to Habitat for Humanity or St. Vincent De Paul All other items of Non-Hazardous Waste including household materials, wood, cardboard, shingles, ans plastics will be charged a nominal fee. CTEWD is pleased to say that we are currently buying scrap metal with the opportunity in just a few short weeks to begin buying copper, aluminum, brass, and many other types of metal. CTEWD gives the city rate on scrap metal but with the convenience of being out in Essex County.
