🔔 Tinnitus 101: What’s That Ringing in Your Ears? 🔊

Do you hear ringing, buzzing, or whooshing sounds that no one else can? You’re not alone — that sensation is called tinnitus, and it affects 1 in 5 people at some point in their lives.

🧠 Tinnitus is the perception of sound without an external source, often described as:
• Ringing
• Hissing
• Buzzing
• Roaring
• Clicking

It can be occasional or constant, mild or disruptive — and it’s not a condition itself, but a symptom of an underlying issue such as:
✔️ Hearing loss
✔️ Noise exposure
✔️ Earwax buildup
✔️ Stress or anxiety
✔️ Medical conditions or medications

🎧 While there’s no universal cure, there are effective ways to manage tinnitus — from sound therapy and hearing aids to lifestyle changes and stress reduction.

💬 If ringing in your ears is affecting your daily life, don’t ignore it. Book a consultation with our hearing professionals today. Relief starts with understanding!

🌊 Swimmer’s Ear: What You Need to Know 🦻

Summer fun in the pool or lake is refreshing—but it can also lead to Swimmer’s Ear (aka otitis externa), a painful ear canal infection caused by water trapped inside the ear. 🏊‍♀️💧

🔍 Signs of Swimmer’s Ear:
• Itchy, red, or swollen ear canal
• Pain when you tug your ear or chew
• Muffled hearing
• Fluid drainage from the ear

🩺 What Should You Do?
Think you have swimmer’s ear? Don’t wait! See a hearing healthcare provider or your doctor. Early treatment helps prevent complications and eases discomfort.

👂 Prevention Tip: Dry your ears thoroughly after swimming and avoid inserting objects (like cotton swabs) into your ears.

Stay safe and protect your hearing all summer long! ☀️

I truly believe in the power of working together and supporting one another in entrepreneurship. A lot of times in business the solution to our problems is right in front of us. But when we are in the thick of the day to day, it can be challenging to see through the fog. Often, the solutions are so clear for other like-minded individuals looking in from the outside. Many of us have all faced the same challenges and struggles in business and have learned things that work or maybe have found a better way.

I have worked with many entrepreneurs in a variety of industries and am always amazed with the knowledge and the insight I have learned from them. There is enough business that we can all be successful. I have seen first hand when I operate business from a place of authenticity and surround myself with others who do the same, all of our businesses thrive and the impact is so much greater than doing it alone.

It was so much fun to collaborate with and to connect, support, and uplift women entrepreneurs in rural Saskatchewan. I have always admired for saying “yes” to things that maybe she doesn’t have time for, but feels are important. She has been someone I have looked up to since starting my business. To many, her business looks like all rainbows and butterflies. But I have seen the work she has put in, the trial and error, the success and the challenges. And I am just so dang proud of all that she has accomplished and thankful she didn’t even hesitate when I asked if she would host this event. There is no one more perfect to host an event about uplifting women entrepreneurs💖

Supporting Hearing Aid Success in Care Homes...

Last month, Chelsea spent time in a local Care Home working alongside staff to help tackle common challenges in managing hearing aids for residents.

With the physical and cognitive limitations many residents face — and the added pressure of limited hearing aid education and high staff turnover — small improvements can make a big difference. 💙

Here are 3 quick and effective tips Chelsea shared:

1️⃣ Not working? Try this first!
If a hearing aid doesn’t seem to be working, replace the wax guard and swap the battery (if it's not rechargeable). These two small steps fix many common issues instantly.

2️⃣ Do the drop test!
Wondering if a hearing aid battery is still good? Drop it on a hard surface.
🔋 If it bounces — it's dead.
🔋 If it doesn’t — it’s still good.
Quick, simple, and surprisingly accurate!

3️⃣ If there is any whistling aids are not in properly. Try to readjust the aid so it no longer makes a sound.

👏 A huge thank you to the care team for their dedication and willingness to learn!
Let’s keep breaking barriers together 💙
