Most approaches to nutrition dwell on calories, carbs, fats, proteins. Instead of creating lists of restrictions and good and bad foods, I coach my clients to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun and free of denial and discipline.

Is coffee good for your health?

Coffee is a beloved beverage enjoyed by many around the world, and its popularity is well-deserved considering the numerous health benefits it offers. One of the key components in coffee that provides these benefits is chlorogenic acid. This antioxidant has been shown to have a wide range of health-promoting properties, making your morning cup of joe even more beneficial than you may have realized.

One of the most significant benefits of chlorogenic acid in coffee is its ability to lower inflammation in the body. Chronic inflammation has been linked to a variety of health conditions, including heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. By reducing inflammation, chlorogenic acid in coffee can help lower the risk of developing these diseases and improve overall health.

Additionally, chlorogenic acid has been found to slow down the burn rate of your telomeres. Telomeres are the protective caps on the ends of your chromosomes, and as they shorten over time, they contribute to the aging process. By slowing down the burn rate of telomeres, coffee can help slow down cellular aging at the level of the telomere burn, keeping you looking and feeling younger for longer.

Furthermore, chlorogenic acid in coffee has been shown to improve metabolism, making it a valuable ally in weight management and overall health. By boosting metabolism, coffee can help you burn more calories throughout the day and support weight loss goals.

So, the next time you enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning, take comfort in knowing that you are not only giving yourself a much-needed energy boost but also reaping the many health benefits that chlorogenic acid has to offer. Cheers to good health and a delicious cup of coffee! šŸ˜‰ā˜•ļø

I have been active all my life. I went through periods of not exercising at all to exercising like a maniac šŸ«£šŸ˜…šŸ™ˆ I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my fitness journey, like only running but no strength training, cycling for an hour and more. Ended up injuring myself (of course šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø)

When I started to have debilitating pain in my lower back and hip I went to my doctor and was sent for an MRI. It showed that L3-4 and L4-5 have been damaged, there is a cyst on the right side of L4-5.

L5-S1 has disc desiccation, which is disc dehydration caused by injury/trauma that leads to pain, weakness, stiffness and nerve compression that causes traveling pain down the legs. That same disc has also herniated and caused nerve impingement.

I have ischiofemoral impingement - narrowing of the space in the hip joint, there is inflammation happening that causes pain. There is degenerative arthrosis (disease that causes cartilage in the joint to deteriorate) with a couple of cysts and cartilage tear in the hip joint. šŸ˜…šŸ«£šŸ˜¬

Last year I was diagnosed with Reynauds syndrome, my hands and feet turn white and purple, they tingle and go numb.

There is a reason why I’m writing about it, if you’re still reading šŸ˜… Last year in October I signed up for the gym membership because I decided to try and see if by strength training I can lessen the pain in my back and hip and by increasing circulation by exercise I can reduce reynauds episodes.

So here it goes… I have been eating really well, lots of anti-inflammatory foods, regularly exercising, I started 3 times a week and now I’m up to 5-6 times a week (no crazy amounts of cardio 🤪). I have been completely off my back pain medication for about 6-7 weeks now, there were 3 of them to take twice a day 😬
I haven’t had reynaud’s episode in about 2 months now, even during very low and cold temps. When I went on a walk with Vitto in -5 C bundled up and with warm mitts my hands would go numb and purple, now I’ve walked him for 45 minutes in -20 and absolutely nothing 🄳

I started my fitness journey to help my body deal with all of that, to become stronger, to not have all of those issues, because that was depressing to me.
I am feeling stronger, happier, more disciplined not only in my workouts but other areas of my life.

I started slow, light weights, I was afraid to make things worse and only 4 months later here I am 😊 consistency is key in everything. Seeing a little bit of muscle tone is a cherry on top! 🄰

If this long text inspires at least one person to try and incorporate some healthier habits in hopes to feel better (and trust me - you will) that’s all I wish!

Sometimes I share personal experiences on here because I am either working through something, figuring out life or have found something that works and wish to help others who might be struggling with the same or similar things šŸ’•

I abandoned this page, my social media baby, because I abandoned myself, so to speak… I didn’t take good care of myself for a while there, life and simply put - s**t happened. I really don’t like the saying ā€œlet myself goā€ because I didn’t, while I didn’t thrive, I was surviving, and did my best at the time. So I didn’t let myself go, even though, if I had taken better care of myself, it would have been easier to handle life and the stress that came with it, but sometimes it’s easier said then done. I wouldn’t even say I let myself down, by not taking good care of myself, what I’ll say is this, life was hard, stressful and because of that I wasn’t in the best state of mind to make the ā€œrightā€ decisions for my health and wellness. I did my best with what I had. Life’s a rollercoaster and we just have to master playing with the cards we’re dealt. šŸ˜‰ Sometimes it’s great and some days it sucks… that’s the beauty of life.

Now that I’ve somewhat climbed out of that hole and definitely living a healthier life, I’ve decided to revive this baby and share what I’ve learned, what I am currently learning, tips, recipes and anything you might be curious about. I stopped because I wasn’t leading a healthy lifestyle for a little bit there, it felt inauthentic to be speaking about ā€œthe rightā€ things to eat and do, when I wasn’t leading by example.

My passion and thirst for more knowledge about nutrition and how it affects our mind, body and everything we do hasn’t been stronger.

I’ll share my own personal experience what I’ve accomplished and conquered with dietary changes and supplements.

Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions private or on any of the posts.
