Is coffee good for your health?

Coffee is a beloved beverage enjoyed by many around the world, and its popularity is well-deserved considering the numerous health benefits it offers. One of the key components in coffee that provides these benefits is chlorogenic acid. This antioxidant has been shown to have a wide range of health-promoting properties, making your morning cup of joe even more beneficial than you may have realized.

One of the most significant benefits of chlorogenic acid in coffee is its ability to lower inflammation in the body. Chronic inflammation has been linked to a variety of health conditions, including heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. By reducing inflammation, chlorogenic acid in coffee can help lower the risk of developing these diseases and improve overall health.

Additionally, chlorogenic acid has been found to slow down the burn rate of your telomeres. Telomeres are the protective caps on the ends of your chromosomes, and as they shorten over time, they contribute to the aging process. By slowing down the burn rate of telomeres, coffee can help slow down cellular aging at the level of the telomere burn, keeping you looking and feeling younger for longer.

Furthermore, chlorogenic acid in coffee has been shown to improve metabolism, making it a valuable ally in weight management and overall health. By boosting metabolism, coffee can help you burn more calories throughout the day and support weight loss goals.

So, the next time you enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning, take comfort in knowing that you are not only giving yourself a much-needed energy boost but also reaping the many health benefits that chlorogenic acid has to offer. Cheers to good health and a delicious cup of coffee! 😉☕️

I have been active all my life. I went through periods of not exercising at all to exercising like a maniac 🫣😅🙈 I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my fitness journey, like only running but no strength training, cycling for an hour and more. Ended up injuring myself (of course 🤦🏼‍♀️)

When I started to have debilitating pain in my lower back and hip I went to my doctor and was sent for an MRI. It showed that L3-4 and L4-5 have been damaged, there is a cyst on the right side of L4-5.

L5-S1 has disc desiccation, which is disc dehydration caused by injury/trauma that leads to pain, weakness, stiffness and nerve compression that causes traveling pain down the legs. That same disc has also herniated and caused nerve impingement.

I have ischiofemoral impingement - narrowing of the space in the hip joint, there is inflammation happening that causes pain. There is degenerative arthrosis (disease that causes cartilage in the joint to deteriorate) with a couple of cysts and cartilage tear in the hip joint. 😅🫣😬

Last year I was diagnosed with Reynauds syndrome, my hands and feet turn white and purple, they tingle and go numb.

There is a reason why I’m writing about it, if you’re still reading 😅 Last year in October I signed up for the gym membership because I decided to try and see if by strength training I can lessen the pain in my back and hip and by increasing circulation by exercise I can reduce reynauds episodes.

So here it goes… I have been eating really well, lots of anti-inflammatory foods, regularly exercising, I started 3 times a week and now I’m up to 5-6 times a week (no crazy amounts of cardio 🤪). I have been completely off my back pain medication for about 6-7 weeks now, there were 3 of them to take twice a day 😬
I haven’t had reynaud’s episode in about 2 months now, even during very low and cold temps. When I went on a walk with Vitto in -5 C bundled up and with warm mitts my hands would go numb and purple, now I’ve walked him for 45 minutes in -20 and absolutely nothing 🥳

I started my fitness journey to help my body deal with all of that, to become stronger, to not have all of those issues, because that was depressing to me.
I am feeling stronger, happier, more disciplined not only in my workouts but other areas of my life.

I started slow, light weights, I was afraid to make things worse and only 4 months later here I am 😊 consistency is key in everything. Seeing a little bit of muscle tone is a cherry on top! 🥰

If this long text inspires at least one person to try and incorporate some healthier habits in hopes to feel better (and trust me - you will) that’s all I wish!

Sometimes I share personal experiences on here because I am either working through something, figuring out life or have found something that works and wish to help others who might be struggling with the same or similar things 💕

I abandoned this page, my social media baby, because I abandoned myself, so to speak… I didn’t take good care of myself for a while there, life and simply put - s**t happened. I really don’t like the saying “let myself go” because I didn’t, while I didn’t thrive, I was surviving, and did my best at the time. So I didn’t let myself go, even though, if I had taken better care of myself, it would have been easier to handle life and the stress that came with it, but sometimes it’s easier said then done. I wouldn’t even say I let myself down, by not taking good care of myself, what I’ll say is this, life was hard, stressful and because of that I wasn’t in the best state of mind to make the “right” decisions for my health and wellness. I did my best with what I had. Life’s a rollercoaster and we just have to master playing with the cards we’re dealt. 😉 Sometimes it’s great and some days it sucks… that’s the beauty of life.

Now that I’ve somewhat climbed out of that hole and definitely living a healthier life, I’ve decided to revive this baby and share what I’ve learned, what I am currently learning, tips, recipes and anything you might be curious about. I stopped because I wasn’t leading a healthy lifestyle for a little bit there, it felt inauthentic to be speaking about “the right” things to eat and do, when I wasn’t leading by example.

My passion and thirst for more knowledge about nutrition and how it affects our mind, body and everything we do hasn’t been stronger.

I’ll share my own personal experience what I’ve accomplished and conquered with dietary changes and supplements.

Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions private or on any of the posts.

What would you like to know more about?
Nutrition, recipes, supplements, my exercise regimen? 😊 I’m here for all of it 🙌🏻

HAPPY NATIONAL KETO DAY!!! 🥳

A ketogenic diet is a kind of diet that stimulates your body to go through the state of ketosis.

Ketosis is a healthy and natural metabolic condition where your body burns its own stored fat, rather than using glucose, such as that found in sugar and carbohydrates.

Metabolically speaking, keto foods are extremely powerful. The remarkable advantages are that these types of food are also delicious, natural whole foods that are very healthy for you. This diet is increasing in popularity as a low carbohydrate diet that encourages your body to generate ketones to be used as energy. Different
versions of a ketogenic diet may be referred to as a low-carb or LCHF (low carb high fat) diet.

If you eat food rich in carbohydrates, your body will generate insulin and glucose.
Glucose: The easiest molecule to convert and utilize as energy.
Insulin: Generated to process sugar or glucose in the bloodstream by absorbing it into the body.

Because glucose is being used as the primary energy source, the fats in your body are not needed for energy, so they’re stored. By reducing your carbohydrate intake, your body shifts into a ketosis state of metabolism.
The end objective of a well-maintained ketogenic diet plan is to push the body into this state of metabolism. This is done by limiting carbs, not necessarily calories alone.
Your body is extremely adaptive to what you eat and put into it. If you overload your body with fats while you take away carbs, your body will begin to burn up ketosis as the main source of energy. High levels of ketone can lead to increased weight loss, better health, and improved mental performance.

21 Foods That Boost Metabolism

Food is often removed from the weigtloss equation
because lack of education or awareness keeps food associated with weight gain, not weight loss. However, food is fuel for your body; you need it! With the right nutrition information and a healthy eating plan, food can become a friend in your weight loss journey.

Foods that boost metabolism are typically rich in fiber and with low calorie content. Vegetables and fruits
are good examples. These foods detoxify your body and help improve digestion.

Abundant in additional health advantages: Natural foods are packed with minerals and vitamins. These provide energy and help the body fend off harmful
illnesses and diseases. For example, Vitamin C is common in citrus fruits and is essential to the generation of L-carnitine, an important element in burning fat.
Eating vegetables and fruits will not increase your weight: Because they are low in calories but increase the efficiency of your metabolism, they can help shed
unwanted weight without adding any back on.

Here are the 21 foods that boost metabolism:

1. Mustard: Mustard can help boost metabolism performance by up to 30% just a couple of hours of consuming it. It also adds a little spice and excitement to your meals.

2. Tea: Tea stimulates the adrenaline that encourages fat burning. One cup of tea a day is enough to boost your metabolism and lose weight.

3. Salmon: Salmon is not only a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, but it also satiates your appetite and helps you feel full longer, reducing cravings and
hunger.

4. Bananas: This fruit is rich in potassium, stimulates your metabolism, and helps burn fat. Enjoy them in moderation, however, because they are rich in natural sugars.

5. Berries: Berries are friendly to your body’s organs, especially the liver, preventing it from generating toxins that slow metabolism.

6. Almonds: Almonds are a great source of protein and healthy fats that boost metabolism. However, enjoy in moderation because they are high-calorie.

7. Beans: Fiber and protein are crucial for improving metabolism, and beans are abundant in both, making them an excellent choice for your metabolism.

8. Greek yogurt: According to research, increasing your consumption of protein helps you burn more calories every day. Greek yogurt is low in calories but packed with protein, with little to no added sugars.

9. Bone Broth: According to Sara Vance, professional nutritionist and author of “The Perfect Metabolism Plan,” bone broth improves metabolism because it is rich in protein, collagen, and minerals. Collagen helps the mucosal barrier in your gut, so it’s valuable for helping healthy digestion, and the assimilation of nutrients is essential for strong metabolism.

10.Celery: Celery is low in calories, high in water content, and a powerful metabolism booster. Chewing this vegetable helps stimulate digestion.

11.Chia Seeds: Chia seeds pack a powerful punch in a tiny little package, with several advantages for your metabolism. These seeds are rich in protein, fiber, and omega 3 fatty acids.

12.Chocolate: This is great news for any chocolate lovers! According to Vance, dark chocolate can boost metabolism fast. Cacao is an excellent source of magnesium that helps maintain healthy sugar levels. It also stimulates the fat-burning hormone adiponectin.

13.Apple Cider Vinegar: This is a unique, remarkable metabolism booster. To maximize its benefits, try mixing apple cider vinegar with lemon juice, cinnamon, cayenne and raw honey prior to drinking. Palinski- Wade explains that apple cider vinegar enhances the stomach's capability to generate hydrochloric acid or HCA. Increased HCA means you can digest food easily and absorb essential nutrients quickly. Apple cider vinegar also balances your glucose level, helping to curb your appetite.

14.Cinnamon: This is a relatively common metabolism booster according to many experts and specialists. According to Palinski-Wade, cinnamon has
thermogenic properties that help you burn calories all day. It is recommended to take ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon a day. Also, according to Vance, cinnamon efficiently metabolizes carbohydrates and can help
manage food cravings for sweets.

15.Coconut Oil: A good fat that can help boost metabolism. According to Vance, coconut oil is one. Coconut oil is rich in medium-chain fatty acids that
easily convert into energy as opposed to other types of oils, thereby boosting your metabolism. It is beneficial for the thyroid gland that plays an essential role in proper metabolism. You can consume pure coconut oil, but you can also use it for cooking. It doesn't have an aftertaste, don't worry about your chicken tasting like coconut.

16.Coffee: Caffeine provides a short-term boost for your body, mind, and your metabolism. For a little pick-me-up, choose coffee instead of drinking an
energy drink that is packed with sugar. The energy-boosting effect of this beverage has been proven to regularly stimulate the rate of metabolism. According to research, 100mg a day—or one cup—of coffee
improved calorie burn of 75-110 calories a day. This is lower than other boosting foods, but, in combination with a healthy diet, an exercise regimen, and other metabolism-burning foods, it can make a big difference.

17.Curry: This style of cooking has multiple advantages for metabolism bundled up in a flavorful package. Curry not just boosts metabolism, but it
also combines several diverse spices from cinnamon to turmeric and hot peppers to ginger that are good for your overall health.

18.Fish: Fish is not only abundant in protein, but it is also a good source of healthy omega-3, which allows it to carry out the additional benefit of boosting metabolism. Dr. Prudence Hall says omega-3 fatty acids help significantly in lowering inflammation and blood sugar, raising your body’s metabolism. Palinski-Wade also praises the value and significance of fish,
specifically fatty fish such as salmon, for their omega-3 fats and protein. She recommends aiming for three servings a week. These essential omega 3-oils combat against body inflammation and lessen circulating stress hormones. She emphasized that when stress hormones are elevated in the body over
a period, they start to store fat as well as raise blood sugar and insulin.
However, foods abundant in omega-3 fatty acids can help lower stress hormones and improve the body’s ability to burn fat.

19.Grapefruit: This fruit has long been associated with losing weight because it helps reduce insulin levels. It is rich in fiber, which is crucial to improving your body’s metabolism. It also contains the Vitamin C that helps keep your body healthy and supports proper immune system functioning, both of which are important in enhancing the body’s metabolism.

20.Green Tea: Green tea contains Epigallocatechin gallate, a healthy substance that improves the fat burning process. A host of specialists and professionals agree that green tea can boost your
metabolism by almost 4% over a 20-hour period.

21.Spinach: Spinach is a good and reliable metabolism booster because of its high fiber content. Foods rich in fiber like spinach could enhance the fat burning process by 30%. Spinach is also rich in iron to help healthy blood circulation and calcium for improved muscle performance, both keys to boosting metabolic energy.

These are some of the best foods to include in your daily diet for improved metabolism. For the best results, enjoy them as part of a healthy diet and
regular exercise routine.

Which one will you incorporate into your healthy lifestyle? 😊

I have worked so much on my Reboot 4 month program that I have decided to share bits and pieces from it with you. I feel like we are all going through so many uncertainties that we should tune into ourselves and take care of ourselves to better navigate these days ❤️

I remember a time in my life where I felt I was at the fork in a road and needed to make massive decisions for my life concerning my mind, body, and spirit.
This program is about daily habits and changing your mindset. Mindset is everything. Whether you are a mom, entrepreneur, or work a traditional 9-5 job, your mindset can change you or destroy you. When you change your mindset, you can:✅Lose weight with ease
✅Have more intimacy in your life
✅Make more money
✅Let go of old stories and memories that deplete you
✅Let go of people that don’t serve you anymore in the highest and greatest good

Are you ready?
The Power of Mindset

Your mind is the most powerful thing that you possess. The way you perceive reality coupled with your thoughts all have a profound impact on your body and overall well-being. How you think affects your health and the actions you take in life. Mindset can be your greatest strength and also your greatest weakness.
Taking control of your life depends entirely on your mindset. You can use the power of your mind to attract positive people and abundance to your life or you can attract more negativity. You have the power to control what type of energy you attract.

Many think this power is absurd but take a moment to think about situations in your life that you have manifested for the good or the bad.
Before we begin, read this quote and take a deep breath:
“When you make this type of commitment to the Universe, it’s important to be aware of any sneaky, fear-based story that can hook you back in. This is the story that pain has a purpose. We live in a world that supports drama, terror, separation, and hardship. We’ve been guided to believe that without pain we have not accomplished or achieved. I’m here to bust that myth now. Pain does
not equal purpose. Your purpose is to be joyful. Your purpose is to live with ease.
Your purpose is to surrender to the love of the Universe, so you can live a happy life. Accept the purpose of love, and your life will radically change this instant.”
― Gabrielle Bernstein, The Universe Has Your Back: Transform Fear to Faith

The universe does have your back.
You are protected.
You have the power.

Action Steps:
🔆Drop the high-sugared beverages and switch to water. Warm water with lemon has a cleansing effect in addition to jumpstarting your metabolism
in the morning

🔆Move your body. Yes, the dreaded exercise word! But you don’t have to run a marathon to have an effective workout. If you’re completely
sedentary, start with a walk around the block; if you already have a gym membership, find your way back there.

🔆Cut back on caffeine. Did you know that caffeine is a diuretic and depletes the body of its much-needed water?

🔆When faced with a challenge or a stressful situation, look for the silver lining instead of focusing on the negative.

Can we just do our best and spread kindness? 🥰

These are such difficult times. Many people are overly stressed and on the edge. (We are also in Mercury Retrograde, so there’s that too)

Being kind to others makes you feel better too. I would also like for you to take a moment and pay attention to the dialogue you’re having with yourself. We have many conversations with ourselves throughout the day. Be kind to yourself too ❤️ you are doing your best, even if some days your best looked like just getting out of bed. On the days like that, you need love the most. Pay attention to yourselves ❤️ love yourself and you will be able to spread that onto others - it’s contagious 🥰

I’ve been talking a little about breakfast lately so I decided to give you a few options to try. Would love your feedback! Which one of these appeals to you the most?

1 cup non-dairy milk
⅓ cup chia seeds
2 tablespoons raw honey or 2 to 3 drops stevia (optional)
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ cup strawberries
Dash of cinnamon
Dash of ground ginger

IN A SMALL SAUCEPAN, add your non-dairy milk over a medium/low flame.
Warm the milk for 2 to 3 minutes. Make it is as hot as you can stand it without boiling.
ADD YOUR CHIA SEEDS TO A SMALL BOWL. Add the warm milk and remaining ingredients. Mix thoroughly and allow it to gel. This process should happen in less than 3 minutes.
Top your chia pudding with berries. Serve immediately.
SERVING TIP: If you would like to serve this cold, mix all your ingredients into a
small bowl. Stir well and let it set for 5 to 7 minutes. Top with fresh fruit and enjoy.

GRAIN FREE “OATMEAL”

¼ cup coconut flour
¼ cup canned coconut milk
¾ cup water

pinch of oregano
sea salt to taste
black pepper to taste

It’s almost 1 pm over here and this is my break-fast 😄 Greek yogurt with fresh strawberries, oatmeal, raisins, nuts, h**p seeds and unsweetened shredded coconut.

Power breakfast 😍 at almost noon, even though I’ve been up since 6am this morning. I wanted to suggest to make sure you eat enough fats not only your brain feeds on it but it’s necessary for your healthy hormone production.

I also love to sprinkle our revolutionary pre- pro- and Post- biotic on my Greek yogurt for my gut health 🥰

What is your favorite breakfast food?

I would like to invite you to think about the food choices you make - are you giving in cravings OR are you nourishing your body and fueling it with the right nutrients to be your best self?
