This month we are celebrating the pharmacy team members that together provide the exceptional care Souris Family Pharmacy is known for!

As Pharmacy Appreciation Month comes to a close, we did in fact save the best for last! Matthew is the Managing Partner of Souris Family Pharmacy and our only fulltime Pharmacist. We tease him about being the face of the pharmacy, with customers frequently calling us "Matt's Place".

SFP was purpose built to showcase a different care philosophy, with Matthew thoughtfully designing workplace procedures to create and maintain lasting relationships with clients across all phases of their healthcare journey. Attention is paid to holistic assessment, interprofessional collaboration and strong clinical services (including medication reviews, minor ailment prescribing and ear assessments) to ensure our clients know how, when and where to access healthcare services that support their overall wellbeing.

Matthew's commitment to, and his effectiveness in, providing Estevan & Area with access to high quality healthcare hasn't gone unnoticed this past year. Matthew was recognized at the 2025 EBEX Awards as the Young Entrepreneur of the Year, with Souris Family Pharmacy also receiving awards for New Business Venture and 2025 Business of the Year, awarded by the Estevan Chamber of Commerce. He also received a 2025 SK Chamber Young Entrepreneur Bursary, further supporting the education and development of the SFP team.

If you’ve wandered into Souris Family Pharmacy lately, chances are you’ve been greeted with some music. Annabelle joined us at SFP in October and brings her youthful energy and caring attitude to the front store. She has a constant smile, always humming or singing a tune and is the friendly staff member who helps customers find products, rings everyone through the till, and keeps the store looking neat and tidy!

Thanks for your hard work every day Annabelle! You’ve been a great addition to be team!

This month we are celebrating the pharmacy team members that together provide the exceptional care Souris Family Pharmacy is known for!

Kirsten formally joined the team at SFP in the fall of 2024 as an immunizer for influenza and COVID. In this role, she’s made it possible for SFP to increase our community’s access to seasonal vaccines by providing on-site clinics at some of our seniors and group living facilities.

In addition to giving vaccines, Kirsten looks after administrative tasks, runs the social media accounts, helps make pill packs, works with different community organizations on donation requests, and much more!

One last note - it’s Kirsten’s birthday today! Thanks for all you do for SFP and Happy Birthday! 🎂🎉

This month we are celebrating the pharmacy team members that together provide the exceptional care Souris Family Pharmacy is known for!

Kaleb became a familiar face around Souris Family Pharmacy last summer when he joined our team as a Pharmacist Intern. He is currently completing Year 3 of his 4 year Doctorate of Pharmacy degree at the University of Saskatchewan. You may have seen him around the pharmacy during school breaks over this last winter, and he’ll be back again for another summer when classes in end in April.

With the supervision of a Pharmacist, Pharmacist Interns practice the same scope as a Pharmacist. And even though he’s still in school, Kaleb has proven to be a quick learner. He brings up-to-date knowledge and a desire to hone his clinical skills, the perfect combination to become our point-person for performing medication reviews. The goal in a med review is to identify and solve any medication-related problems that may have been flying under the radar and to make sure your medication is right for you.

We’re so excited to have Kaleb back this summer and beyond!

Danielle is at Souris Family Pharmacy every Wednesday where she looks after the verification of all of our pill packs! When she joined us in 2024, Danielle had no prior experience in community pharmacy. The learning curve was steep, but Danielle has stepped up to every new challenge and has proven to be an invaluable member of our team!

While primarily focused on preparing and checking pill packs, Danielle jumps in wherever she’s needed - helping customers, verifying prescriptions, completing inventory counts, and more. She brings a positive attitude and a willingness to help each day. We are so proud of Danielle for all that she contributed to our patients’ and customers’ experience!
