Soup Season is Here! 🍲
There’s nothing like a warm, hearty bowl of soup to cozy up the shorter autumn days. Not only is soup comforting, it’s also a simple way to pack in nutrients for seniors and families alike. 💙Try this easy & nutritious autumn soup:
🍅 Simple Veggie & Lentil Soup
🟩 1 cup red lentils
🟩 2 carrots, diced
🟩 2 celery stalks, diced
🟩 1 onion, chopped
🟩 4 cups vegetable or chicken broth
🟩 1 tsp garlic, minced
🟩 Salt, pepper, and herbs to taste
Instructions:
1️⃣ In a large pot, sauté onion, garlic, carrots, and celery for 5 minutes.
2️⃣ Add lentils and broth, bring to a boil.
3️⃣ Reduce heat and simmer for 20–25 minutes until lentils and veggies are tender.
4️⃣ Season with salt, pepper, and your favourite herbs. Serve warm!
💡 Tip: Pair with a slice of whole-grain bread for extra fibre and comfort.
