Last week, some of our team had the honour of sponsoring and serving a dinner at Ronald McDonald House SWO (London)—and it’s hard to put into words just how meaningful the experience was for all of us.
There were so many emotions swirling throughout the evening. Gratitude. Humility. Heartache. Joy. Knowing that many of the families we were serving couldn’t be home for Christmas, and were instead focused on the health and care of their child, was incredibly moving. It was a powerful reminder of how fragile life can be—and how important compassion and community truly are.
What stood out most, though, is just how special the Ronald McDonald House is. The volunteers and staff do absolutely everything to support these families, and they think of every detail. From treasure hunts designed to bring smiles to siblings, to magical “Christmas shopping” rooms where children can pick out free gifts for their parents—every corner of the house is filled with thoughtfulness, care, and love.
We are so grateful to have shared this experience, and we want to give a heartfelt thank you to one of our amazing catering team members, Nicole Willert, who regularly participates in preparing one meal each month at the House and who kept us all organized and on track that night. And a huge thank you to Chef Denise, one of the Ronald McDonald House chefs, who patiently oversaw our kitchen shenanigans and helped ensure everything came together seamlessly.
We left that evening with full hearts, a deeper sense of gratitude, and an even greater appreciation for the incredible work being done at Ronald McDonald House every single day. Thank you for allowing us to be a small part of something so meaningful. ❤️
