This is the recipe for you!!
This warm/cold salad has been on repeat this summer with the veggies added changing up with the season. This is a great make-ahead-one-bowl meal!

Adaptions:
Veggies: choose what you have and like just adapt cooking time accordingly
Selective Eaters: use ‘Considerate Not Catering’ and serve this separated or plain versions of these foods.

I 100% have bought a coconut for food exploration and turned it into ‘Monty Python Horseshoes’. Kids loved it!

I was told that these were air delivered by African Swallows. They tried European swallows, but they just couldn’t do it.

🙃Is anyone else drowning in all the June activities?!🤪

This easy weeknight dinner saved my butt tonight! In an ideal world it would have paired with cooked chicken, but by the time I got to it all the Walmart cooked chickens were gone. Alas we went with milk as our protein tonight!

🫛Easy Spring Veggie Pasta🫛

375g dry pasta
375g sliced asperigus (~1 bunch)
2 cup frozen pea (defrosted)
3/4 cup cream cheese
2 tbsp pesto
Garlic and onion powder to taste
Salt and pepper to taste

Cook the pasta according to package directions and half way through the cooking time add the veggies.
When pasta is cooked drain pasta and veggies reserving some of the pasta water.
Add the pasta-veggies back into the pot with the cream cheese and pesto. Stir, adding the pasta water slowly, until the cream cheese melts and creates a sauce.
Add garlic powder, onion powder and salt/pepper to taste.

Enjoy!

Bonus points: The littlest kiddo said “I used to not like the green things (asparagus) but in this I do kinda.” Neutral expose, many ways over time FTW 🙌🏼

We saved Mapleton's Organic Dairy for our last stop of the as we knew we wanted to wrap up the day with an ice cream treat.
We always say we go for the ice cream but our photos beg to differ that we actually come for the cows!!
Mapleton’s has been a favourite of ours since I discovered it 12 years ago. The animal barn has pigs, sheep, chickens, goats, ducks and a pony. You can walk through the two cow barns and see the automated milking operation and spend hours enjoying the personalities of these cows.

🦬I did something new today! 🦬
Today’s included a stop at Northwind Bison. I have never seen bison close up and I may have ran out to the paddock like a kid when I saw the herd move toward the fence line for a better view.

Shane took us on a four wheel drive to the back of the paddock and told us all about his heard, pointed out where they roll to lose their shaggy winter coat and told us his bull was 2200-2500lbs. Look at that boy!!

As you can see, samples were a hit with this group!
Thanks for opening your farm to us today, it was a fantastic time!!

Today our spring started off with a stop at The Kabbespatch outside of Drayton. We met the rabbits, chicks, ducks, cows and pigs. A very diverse farm! We came home with a side of bacon and some ground beef for the freezer.
