HOPE Centered Counselling

HOPE Centered Counselling HOPE Centered Counselling is committed and passionate about working with you to resolve struggles. ROOTED IN COMPASSION. BUILT ON TRUST. CENTERED ON YOU.

This is a space where you can exhale, where your story is honoured, your pain is held with care, and your hope is gently rebuilt. At Hope Centered Counselling, we meet you as you are: not to fix, but to walk with you toward healing, growth, and deeper self-understanding. Here, your voice matters. Your pace is respected. And your journey is supported with grounded presence and real connection. Why

HOPE Centered? Because hope is more than a feeling, it’s a force. At Hope Centered Counselling, we believe that hope can be life-changing, even (and especially) when it feels out of reach. Research shows that hope supports resilience, emotional well-being, and the ability to move through life’s hardest moments. But we also know that when you’re struggling, hope can be the first thing to disappear. That’s why we chose this name. Our mission is to hold onto hope for you when it feels distant, to nurture it, protect it, and help you find your way back to it. We believe hope is a human right. A steady light. A starting place for change. And when therapy is grounded in real connection, inclusive care, and inner work on both sides of the room, hope can grow again. This is the heart of our practice. It’s why we show up. And it’s what we’re here to offer. Every step of the way.

Sign up for our therapy group July 9th: NAVIGATING THE POLITICAL LANDSCAPE AS A MEMBER OF THE Q***R COMMUNITY.

Coming together to share our experiences, insights, and coping strategies about a specific topic impacting our community. Together we can get through this!

This structured group is facilitated by our lovely, beautifully q***r therapist Elizabeth (Liz) she/her, who was manning the Hope Centered Counselling booth at our amazing CW Pride Celebration June 14th. This group starts Wednesday July 9th, 2025, from 6-9pm, bi-weekly, for 6 sessions in our Fergus office location. Journals and pens provided.

Some of the guided topics to expect are: our current political climate in Canada and America, it's impact on mental health and marginalized people, social media impacts, what it means to be q***r in environments such as church, school, and work, the charter of human rights & freedoms, the ministry of labour, other protective laws for q***r folk, identity, and we have also planned flexibility so that you can contribute to topic development. You will be given professional guidance and tools to help you navigate your experience and mental health.

Here at Hope Centered Counselling we strive to be the #1 safe space in Centre Wellington for all your q***r therapy needs, and we are very much looking forward to sharing this experience with you, and supporting you through this complicated topic.

The cost is approximately $11.66 per 3 hour evening, pennies in comparison to a single therapy session. Total payment $210 is due on the start date July 9th. If the lump sum payment makes attending the group inaccessible for you, please email our Owner & Founder Janeen at janeen.counselling@gmail.com to make alternative arrangements.

Sign up today to reserve your spot! Please send us an email to elizabeth.hopecc@gmail.com and provide us with your name, email and phone number, saying you would like to sign up to the group.

Thank you,

🌿 Counsellor Highlight: Meet Lizzy! 🌿

Therapy can be a space of growth, curiosity, and even lightness, especially when life feels overwhelming or uncertain. Lizzy approaches each session with warmth, openness, and a deep respect for the different ways people learn, process, and heal.

From a young age, Lizzy found herself drawn to helping others, shaped by both her personal experiences with mental health in her family and her own neurodivergence. These early insights inspired a lifelong commitment to understanding how unique minds move through the world, and how therapy can support them along the way.

With over 14 years of experience and a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University, Lizzy brings a client-guided, intersectional lens to her work. She draws from CBT, DBT, and ACT-based approaches to support youth, young adults, and adults navigating life transitions, medical diagnoses (including brain injuries), identity exploration, and emotional challenges.

Lizzy’s sessions are collaborative, empowering, and tailored to meet you where you’re at. She believes that while therapy can be hard work, it doesn’t have to feel heavy, and that meaningful change happens when we feel safe to show up as our full selves.

Outside the therapy room, Lizzy is an avid ringette player (she’s been playing since age four!), and also enjoys skiing, rock climbing, hiking, being near water, and unwinding with video games and friends.

🔹 Lizzy is currently accepting new clients. If you’re looking for a supportive space to explore, grow, and reconnect with yourself, head to our website to book, link in bio!

🌿 Counsellor Highlight: Meet Anthony! 🌿

Life doesn’t always go the way we expect, and sometimes, it can feel heavy, uncertain, or even hopeless. But even in the hardest moments, Anthony believes we can uncover strength, meaning, and purpose. His role as a therapist is to walk alongside you, helping you navigate life’s challenges while holding space for your healing, growth, and transformation.

Anthony brings a deeply personal lens to his work, shaped by his own experience with medical trauma. After surviving a series of strokes, he committed to living with intention, and to helping others do the same. That journey now informs his empathetic and purpose-driven approach to therapy.

Drawing from an existential and Logotherapy framework, Anthony supports clients in exploring life’s big questions, while also offering practical tools from CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic, and Person-Centered approaches. Whether you’re navigating grief, addiction recovery, medical illness, shifting identity, or feeling stuck and disconnected, Anthony creates a thoughtful, grounded space to process and move forward.

He honours spirituality in all its forms and understands how our beliefs, life experiences, and values shape the healing process.

Outside the therapy room, Anthony is a proud husband and father, a lifelong learner, and someone who finds beauty in music, language, and meaning-making in all its forms.

Anthony’s approach is thoughtful, philosophical, and rooted in hope. If you’re feeling lost or weighed down, he’s here to help you find your way forward, with honesty, compassion, and purpose.

🔹 Anthony is currently accepting new clients. You can book a session through the link in our bio!

🌿 Counsellor Highlight: Meet Kelsey! 🎨

Creativity has the power to unlock emotions, foster healing, and help us navigate life’s challenges. As a Registered Psychotherapist and Art Therapist, Kelsey blends talk therapy and art for clients that want to explore their creative sides to support self-expression, reflection, and growth.

In Art Therapy, you don’t need to be an artist to benefit from art therapy. It’s not about making “good” art, but about exploring your emotions in a way that feels right for you. Whether you're processing grief, navigating identity struggles, managing anxiety or depression, or adjusting to life transitions, Kelsey creates a safe, inclusive space to explore your story.

Her approach is feminist and LGBTQ+ affirmative, recognizing that mental health is shaped by both personal experience and the world around us. She incorporates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and the Expressive Therapies Continuum (ETC), allowing therapy to be deeply individualized. Some days focus on conversation, others on creative techniques or grounding exercises.

Outside of therapy, Kelsey finds joy in nature, cooking, creating art, and spending time with her rescue dog, Lexi.

🔹 Kelsey is currently accepting new clients. Book a session through the link in our bio!
