This week we read “The Dot” and explored our creativity. The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds empowers students by fostering a growth mindset, boosting creativity, building confidence, and teaching social-emotional skills, showing them that starting small (a single dot) can lead to amazing things through effort, believing in themselves, and the supportive guidance of teachers. Today EVKC kids heard the story “How to Catch an Elf”. These amazing kiddos decided to build their elf, Snowflake, a home (with a toboggan hill) instead of a trap. Team work, collaboration and imagination were all demonstrated today.

All about our Elf on the Shelf, snowflake this week! Elk Valley Kids we learned a special lesson in how mail travels to the North Pole, with the help of our Elf—and how a little Christmas magic helps it along! After writing letters to Santa we asked Snowflake to deliver them to Santa. Santa sent a response all the way from the North Pole!
Receiving his letter reminded us that writing is a powerful way to share our thoughts, practice our spelling, and express kindness. Our elf was so proud to be part of the process, and we’re excited to keep learning, writing, and believing in a little holiday magic.
