In partnership with Sparwood Chiropractic and Wellness and Sparwood Remedy's Rx Pharmacy and Natural Health, we are excited to announce the details of our Black Gold Poker Rally Event on September 30th hosted at Mountain Shadows Campground.

Walk, Run, Bike Options - routes to be posted in the coming days. Your registration includes a BBQ post event and eligibility to win prizes and door prizes! If you are one of the first 50 registrants, you will receive an event T-shirt. Sizing is only guaranteed to September 4th, so be sure to sign up ASAP! Registration closes September 28, however same day registration is available for $40 cash at 9am on event day.

It's smoky everywhere!
I've had a few people come into the store asking about supplements that can help prevent or soothe irritation caused by wild fire smoke.
I posted an article called HERBS + SUPPLEMENTS FOR WILDFIRE POLLUTION which gives you some suggestions. I carry similar supplements in-store, so please reach out to me if you have any questions.
The most common signs of smoke irritation include watery/burning eyes, scratchy/sore throat, dry cough, sore sinuses and headaches. Exposure to smoke can also cause more stress on the body because toxins can enter your blood stream.
It is also really important that you have at least one HEPA air filter in your house. Watch the Air Quality Index (AQI) and close all your windows when the AQI is high. Once the wind pushes the smoke out during the day, open up the windows for some fresh air. In our case here in Sparwood, sometimes there's only an hour during the day when we can do this.....and then it's back to shutting all the windows.
