My family and I were lucky enough to spend the last couple of weeks on vacation. It was great. Beautiful sunshine and water, quality family time, and a much-needed break from our usual routine.
This break from the norm is one of the reasons we most enjoy, and need, vacation time. By removing ourselves from our typical routines, we also remove ourselves from our typical stressors. The same can be said for our bodies: we move differently on vacation, and this can have great, as well as not-so-great, consequences. With a bit of awareness and forward planning, though, we can maximize the good and minimize the bad outcomes of a movement vacation.
