Only 4 days left to grab your tickets 🤠

Boots, Beers & Belonging is happening next Saturday, and it’s shaping up to be such a fun, easy night out — good food, music, and some pretty amazing door prizes (valued up to $600 👀)

Ticket sales will be closing in 4 days, so we can finalize everything, so if you’ve been thinking about coming, now’s the time 🤍

It’s a chance to get out, enjoy a night with great people, and be part of something that supports local children and families in a really meaningful way.

Would love to see you there.

Join us for a warm, welcoming country-themed evening bringing the Elk Valley community together in support of local children and families.

🌿 Community Resource for Families

We know that raising a child with big feelings and big needs can be both beautiful and incredibly challenging. While behavioural and developmental supports are important, families also deserve spaces where they can talk, reflect, and receive emotional support.

We wanted to share a resource that may be helpful for some families in our community.

Securely Thriving is a family therapy practice supporting caregivers and families navigating emotional, relational, and parenting challenges. Their approach is grounded in attachment science and nervous system awareness, focusing on the relationship underneath behaviour.

Many families are surprised to learn that family counselling and caregiver support may be eligible expenses through BC Autism Funding (AFU) and other provincial programs.

📍 Based in Nelson, BC
💻 Virtual sessions available anywhere in BC

They also offer a free 30-minute consultation to discuss whether the support may be a good fit.

At KIDS, we believe supporting children also means supporting the caregivers who love them. We're always happy to share resources that may help families feel a little more supported along the way.

Since sharing our upcoming community fund event, Boots, Beers & Belonging, a few people have asked how they can keep track of the impact their contributions are making.

So we created a community page on our website where you can follow along with the progress of the event. It shows a live update of what has been raised so far — we’re currently at $286 toward our $5,000 goal.

After the event, we’ll continue updating the page to share how the funds are used, including how many families were supported, the hours of services funded by the community, and stories from the families who benefit.

If you’re interested in being part of it, you can visit the page to learn more about the event and how to contribute.

We’re grateful for the support the Elk Valley community continues to show — whether that’s attending the event, sharing it, or contributing in other ways.

At KIDS, we strive to find new ways to bring the community together to be able to provide the services children deserve. By bringing the community together, we can educate, support and provide.

Over the past year, KIDS has grown in ways I never could have imagined 🤍

One of the most important shifts has been deepening our approach to supporting children and families through developmental, play-based learning that happens naturally within everyday routines.

This means supporting communication, emotional regulation, social engagement, and independence through meaningful interaction — not rigid protocols, but real connection, trust, and guided learning.

Every child is different, and support should reflect that.
Services are individualized, relationship-based, and available within home, school, and community environments in Crowsnest Pass and across the East Kootenay region.

Funding-approved services are available through the Autism Funding Unit in British Columbia, and funded services are also available for families in Alberta.

If you’ve been wondering whether this kind of support could help your child, I offer a complimentary consultation to talk through your goals and answer any questions.

Thank you for continuing to trust KIDS with your families. It is truly an honour to do this work alongside you.
