Services include individual therapy, play therapy, behaviour supports, supervised access, & therapeutic groups. Our team of highly trained professional therapists and counsellors provide a variety of client-centered services for children and their families. Mareas' goal is to promote healthy relationships, nurture growth, development and communication within and outside the family. Based in Hamilton, Mareas offers in-home services throughout a large catchment area in southern and south central Ontario. (Hamilton/Halton, Brant County, Niagara Region, Peel Region). Mareas Therapeutic Services is currently seeking Part-Time Independent Contractors for the following roles:

👥 Specialized Support Worker

Support children and youth with complex needs in their homes and community.

Minimum Requirements
• Diploma/Degree in Social Service Worker, Child & Youth Care, Developmental Services, Educational Assistant or related field
• Min 2 years frontline experience supporting children/youth with behavioural, developmental, or mental health needs
• Ability to work independently in client homes and community settings
• Flexible availability (after school, evenings or weekends)
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
• Clear Broad Spectrum Police Check

📍 Work Location: Primarily Niagara Region with some work in Hamilton
🕒 Schedule: Part-time independent contractor (flexible hours)

💵 $20-$25 based on experience

 

💬 Family Outreach Worker

Work directly with families to support behaviour plans, parenting strategies, and therapeutic goals.

Minimum Requirements
• Degree or diploma in Social Work, Psychology, BSW, Child/Youth Studies
• Minimum 5 years direct frontline experience working with children, youth, and families
• Experience implementing behaviour plans and family support strategies
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check

How do I know?

Because just this past week I watched our team in action with some of the most incredible kids.

I watched them work their magic with high-needs kiddos while honouring each child for their unique strengths, challenges, and individual needs.

MEET REBECCA!

Rebecca graduated with a BA with Major in psychology from Brock University and has taught at Niagara College in the Autism and Behaviour Science Program. Rebecca has also worked as an Educational Assistant where she supported children identified with communication, behavioural, and physical exceptionalities.

Rebecca has a lifelong love of horses. She has owned her own equestrian facility and has combined her passions to teach therapeutic riding in the past as well. She enjoys the outdoors, camping, hiking, and kayaking with her family.

Our spring programs are coming up fast! Make sure you don't miss your chance and register today!

Our Kin Connection group is back by popular demand. We also have a virtual workshop series, geared to parents and caregivers who want information on certain topics and diagnoses. Our Empowering Pathways program is an online group for parents and caregivers of children and youth on the ASD spectrum! Yes, you can use OAP funding!

Looking for something for your child on the ASD spectrum? Neuro Nook is an in person social group for children 9-13 with a Level one ASD diagnosis.

Our Story

Our team of highly trained professional therapists and counsellors provide a variety of client-centered services for children and their families. Mareas' goal is to promote healthy relationships, nurture growth, development and communication within and outside the family.

Based in Hamilton, Mareas offers in-home services throughout a large catchment area in southern and south central Ontario. (Hamilton/Halton, Brant County, Niagara Region). We offer a wide range of services including but not limited to Individual therapy for adults and children/youth, Adoption Services, Play therapy, Supervised Access, a variety of Support Groups for families, and children.

In 2016 we also became a licensed Foster Care Provider with the Ministry of Children Community and Social Services. We provide treatment foster care for children aged 0-18 years old. Our families are trained in therapeutic interventions, and parent from a trauma informed lens. We look for individuals and families in the area of Hamilton and neighbouring communities such as Niagara, Haldimand-Norfolk, Brant County, Halton and Cambridge to be a part of our clinical team, to help children and youth who need a safe and nurturing environment until they can return to their families.
