As the anticipation for the upcoming Summer Olympics grows, we embarked on a global culinary journey by hosting our Spring Around The World event, international! Staff and residents came together to prepare and share delicious dishes from various cultures, each one accompanied by heartfelt stories and memories. The act of sharing food from one's culture not only brought us closer together, but also sparked conversations about our unique family traditions and experiences. We are grateful to all who joined us in this enriching program!

We’d like to thank Marlene from Hardt Designs for allowing the staff and residents to become models for the day! Everyone had so much fun dressing up and walking the runway! A special thanks to brown sugar decor for providing center pieces and the balloon arch!

Today is International Nurses Day! All week we celebrated our dedicated nursing staff, who provide such love and care. Residents got to learn about the “history of nursing” by Lisa Mooney from the Welland Historic Museum, and created nursing caps with the daycare children! On Friday, the retired nurses who live at Lookout Ridge were pinned, and given their nursing cap as a token of appreciation. Your compassion and empathy make a difference in this world!

The residents of Lookout got to enjoy a beautiful Mother’s Day High Tea with entertainment by David Iannandrea! The sandwiches were crustless, and fascinators were worn! What a fun way to celebrate all of the women. Happy Mother’s Day everyone!

When there’s a nice day in spring, you get outside! Time for an update! Please enjoy some photos from the past couple of weeks.
We’ve been having a blast!! Celebrating Spring Living’s 3rd birthday, enjoying the wine club, and mixing in a few mocktail socials! Resident’s got crafty and created their own memory boxes!
Last month, we got to celebrate Earth Day with a community garbage pick up, we were proud that there wasn’t a lot of litter. We also got to celebrate our external and internal volunteers for Volunteer Appreciatation week! These individuals help make our community a home.

The farm came to Lookout Ridge! We had the pleasure of cuddling baby chicks this week! Everyone took turns being mother hen, and we even got to sing them to sleep. Lots of memories from the old days being on the farm were reminisced. What a fun filled afternoon!
