While we’re all looking forward to warmer days, gastroenteritis (the "stomach flu") is still making the rounds in our community. It spreads easily through contaminated food or water, contact with animals, or being around someone who’s sick. Elders and children can get very sick.

𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿:
🔸 Fever & abdominal pain
🔸Diarrhea
🔸Nausea & vomiting

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀.
🧼 Wash hands with soap and warm water (especially after bathroom breaks or diaper changes).
✨ Sanitize: Regularly disinfect high-touch surfaces like counters and sinks.

Feeling unwell? Stay home, drink plenty of fluids and rest!
Wait at least 24 hours after your last symptom before going back to work or school.

🧵 SEWING & STORIES 🧵

A supportive sewing circle focused on connection, storytelling, healthy relationships, and conversations around domestic violence.

These sessions combine pualuk-making, storytelling, and guided discussion to create a safe and welcoming space for reflection, sharing, and learning. Topics include safety, respect, boundaries, and support. Sharing stories is always optional, and participants are encouraged to engage at their own comfort level. Support workers will be available.

✨ Beginners are welcome. No sewing experience needed.

Limited to 12 participants.

⚠️ IMPORTANT – Message for Clients Travelling by Plane ⚠️ ✈️

❄️ Due to the weather conditions expected tomorrow and Thursday, we want to reassure our clients that all operations will continue as usual. Our teams are fully prepared and committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all clients.

• Drivers in Montreal will be using safe and adapted driving practices.
• Pilots will only depart once they receive official clearance confirming it is safe to fly. Please note that these conditions may cause medevac delays and extended wait times for clients at the CMC, as safety remains our top priority.
• The weather conditions are expected to be short-term, lasting approximately 24 to 48 hours.
• We will provide an update early Wednesday morning.

🎨 Calling all Cree artists!

The Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay is inviting Cree artists from across the nine Cree communities to submit proposals for original artworks that will be integrated into the 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶 𝗘𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀’ 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲.

We are looking for proposals for:

✨ 5 interior 2D or low-relief artworks to be installed in different areas of the building
✨ 1 interior 3D artwork (suspended sculpture) to be featured in the main lobby

Selected artworks will help create a welcoming space celebrating themes such as Cree culture, family, the wisdom of Elders, community pride, and the beauty of the land.
