☕️COFFEE GIFT BASKET FUNDRAISER☕️

The resident’s of Extendicare Fort Macleod are fundraising for their activity fund! Pictured below is a basket valued over $300.00 filled with donations from SIX local businesses including Blackwood Coffee Co., Cupper’s Coffee and Tea, Little Nicaragua Coffee Company, Petal’s Paws & Beans Coffee Shop, Brouwer Bees, and Tatuk Coffee Co!

Tickets are $10.00 each and can be purchased at Extendicare. Please ask for a Recreation staff member to enter the draw.

A huge shoutout to the Fort Macleod Checkmates Car Club for bringing some classic cars for the residents to see and sit in! The cars pictured ranged from 1931-2010. The residents definitely enjoyed themselves😊☀️

Oki! Happy National Indigenous People’s Day!

Today was a fun filled day with cultural activities for the residents to learn and enjoy. This morning, we had the honour of having Terri Many Gray Horses come and help us make homemade berry soup and bannock for our Indigenous lunch! It was delicious 😊

This afternoon, we had Kyle and Lana Blood come and perform the woman’s traditional dance and the prairie chicken dance. We greatly appreciate them sharing their culture with us! liksoka’pii kitsinohsi!

The residents LOVE Pet Therapy and so do the Grade 2 students at W.A Day School! We had the pleasure of having the students join us the last 3 Pet Therapy days and they had so much fun interacting with our residents and petting/holding our therapy dogs Bozley & Riggz, our therapy cat Sarge, and our 2 Cockatiels Sonny & Cher!

We look forward to having the students come visit us again sometime soon!😊

Meet our new therapy cat Sarge! Today was his first visit with the residents and as you can see…they LOVE him!! Sarge is very cuddly and loves to purr when being petted. He will be coming to the facility once a week. With the beautiful weather today, the residents got to enjoy pet therapy outside on the patio! ☀️😻

On Friday, the residents celebrated Cinco de Mayo with a festive lunch consisting of taco lasagna and churro donuts AND a piñata full of candy!! 🍬 🍭🍫🌮
