Hand In Hand Out of School Care Program

Hand In Hand Out of School Care Program From our hands to their hands, our team will equip your child with the tools to become caring and confident individuals of tomorrow.

Our Core Values include Family, Happiness, Diversity and Learning. Hand In Hand Out of School Care Program provides before and after school care for children in Kindergarten through Grade 6, in the community of Fort Macleod, Alberta. We value that each child is unique and will provide a program that meets the physical, social, intellectual, creative and emotional needs of each child in the program. We encourage and welcome family involvement as beneficial to the program and to a child's growth process. We believe that every child has the right to be in a safe, healthy and nurturing environment. We recognize that personal relationships play a large part in the child's motivations as does the child's own curiosity and drive towards competence. We strive to develop a positive sense of self in each one of our children through the creation of an atmosphere of warmth, respect, acceptance and fun.

Now, more than ever, we need to use our voices to fight for the rights of every child in the world

National Child Day is celebrated in Canada on November 20th to acknowledge the importance of children’s rights and our country’s commitment to upholding them. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child sets out the rights of children with 54 articles that provide us with a solid road map of what is needed to raise healthy and happy children and youth. It is a day that celebrates raising our youngest citizens with dignity and respect, so they can make meaningful contributions to their communities.

Young people are our future, and we need to listen to them when important decisions are being made about their lives. Our communities need equitable and diverse support for all children and youth to succeed in life and reach their full potential. We are currently facing unique circumstances in caring for our young people and it is more important than ever to stand up as a community to support them.

This year’s theme is “Inclusion for Every Child.” Every child has the right to be treated fairly, no matter where they live, the colour of their skin, their abilities, their religion, language, or gender. Many children and youth in Alberta face poverty, bullying, discrimination, poor mental health, and abuse. A community that promotes children’s rights, free from these adversities, raises healthier and more engaged citizens.
