I’ve been putting off repotting this burro’s tail forever because I knew it would end in disaster… and I was absolutely right 😂💇‍♀️

At least I now own 1 plant + 8 bonus plants, so… silver lining? 🌱✨

Drop your best burro’s tail repotting tips below, because clearly I need them 👀😂

There are a few things I wish more people knew about doulas…

✨ You don’t need to be planning an unmedicated birth to work with a doula.
✨ We’re not here to replace your partner — we support both of you.
✨ It’s not “too early” or “too late” to reach out. Whether you’re 8 weeks or 38 weeks, it’s never the wrong time to add support.
✨ Having a doula doesn’t mean your birth plan has to look a certain way — it just means you’ll have someone in your corner no matter what.

Every birth is unique, and my role is to help you feel informed, supported, and empowered through it all. Birth doesn’t have to be something you just “get through” — you deserve to feel held and respected every step of the way.

🫶 I currently have openings for prenatal, birth, and postpartum support, and I’d love to connect. Even if you’re not sure if a doula is right for you, I’m always happy to chat and answer any questions — no pressure at all.

Message me anytime 💛

If you’re pregnant, newly postpartum, or somewhere in the middle—I’m here for you.

I offer support that’s real, responsive, and tailored to what you need in the moment.

Here’s what I currently offer:

Prenatal Doula Support
Someone to walk with you through the questions, the planning, and the emotions of preparing for birth. I’ll be there to help you feel informed and confident.

Postpartum Doula Support
Whether you need a nap, a moment to yourself, help with baby care, or just someone who gets it—I can be that steady presence during the fourth trimester.

Lactation Support
Feeding your baby can be surprisingly overwhelming. I offer practical, non-judgmental support with breastfeeding, bottle feeding, or whatever works best for your family.

Prenatal Education
If you’re looking to better understand what to expect and how to prepare for labour, birth, and beyond—I offer personalized prenatal sessions to help you feel ready.

I currently have openings and would love to support you or someone you care about.

Reach out if you’d like to chat more about how this support could look for your family—no pressure, just a conversation.

I just got back from a women’s retreat this weekend and wow—I forgot what it feels like to be away, to breathe, to just be me.

And if I’m being honest… I wish I’d done this more when my kids were younger.

Back then, even thinking about taking time for myself didn’t feel remotely possible. The mom guilt was overflowing and it felt like stepping away meant I wasn’t doing enough, being enough. But the truth is: we can’t pour from an empty cup. And I was running on fumes.

Self-care isn’t selfish—it’s survival. It’s the reset we deserve. Whether it’s a weekend retreat, a solo coffee, or just 10 minutes with a locked bathroom door, it matters. You matter.

Let’s remind each other: we’re allowed to take up space, to rest, to reconnect with who we are outside of motherhood.
Filling your own cup doesn’t take away from your family—it adds to it.

About Me – Sarah, Your Friendly Doula 🎨🐾

Hey! I’m Sarah — Alberta-raised, currently calling Fort McMurray home for the past 8 years. I’ve lived all over the province, and somehow always find my way back to supporting people in the big moments of life.

I’m a mom to two awesome kids — a 9-year-old daughter and a 7-year-old son who keep me humble, silly, and stocked up on snacks at all times.

I’ve tried probably every hobby under the sun (call it a personality trait 😂), but lately painting has really stuck. There’s just something about slowing down and creating that balances out the beautiful chaos of parenting and doula life.

Oh — and we can’t forget Doug Cheezy, our cat, who absolutely runs the house.

Birth, babies, messy life moments — I’m here for all of it, without judgment and with lots of heart. 💛

Is it Labour… or Just a Baby Prank? 👶😅

As your friendly doula, I get this question a lot — “Is this it??” And honestly… sometimes early labour feels more like your body doing a test run than the real show!

Here are some early labour signs your body might be warming up:
💫 Crampy, achy feelings (like a period on repeat)
💫 Back twinges or pressure down low
💫 Loose poops (yep, your body’s clearing the stage!)
💫 The mucus plug making a dramatic exit
💫 Contractions that are coming more regularly

And of course, the classic: 💦 “Did my water just break or did I p*e a little?” (You’re not alone. We’ve all wondered.)

The line between early labour and go-time can be a little blurry — that’s where I come in! I’m here to help you figure it out, support you through it, and remind you that you’ve got this.

Every body is different. Every birth is a little wild. But you’re never doing it alone 💛

Nausea, Heartburn & Food Aversions—Oh My!
Pregnancy can be full of surprises… like suddenly hating your favorite food, feeling queasy all day, or getting heartburn from plain toast. 😩

These symptoms are common (but that doesn’t make them fun).
💧 Small, frequent meals
🌿 Bland or cold foods for nausea
🛏️ Stay upright after eating to ease heartburn
💊 And don’t hesitate to talk to your doctor—there are safe meds that can help!

Be gentle with yourself—some days it’s all about survival. 💛

“I have a midwife — do I really need a doula too?” 🤔

It’s one of the most common questions I get — and honestly, it’s a great one!

Here’s the deal:
✨ Your midwife is your medical care provider. They’re focused on your health and your baby’s health, and they’re amazing at it.
✨ Your doula is there just for you — emotionally, physically, mentally, and sometimes even spiritually. I support you through the ups, downs, and “what the heck is happening?” moments.

Think of it like this:
Your midwife makes sure your birth is safe.
Your doula helps make sure your birth feels supported. 💛

We’re on the same team — just with different roles. You don’t need both, but together? It’s a dream team.

Got questions about how we work together? Ask away!

Hi! I’m Sarah — a doula (and yes, most of my photos are car selfies… it’s my unofficial office 🚗😅).

I’m all about supporting people through pregnancy and birth with zero judgment and no pressure — just real, kind, empowering support every step of the way 💪💕

My favorite moment? Hands down, when baby is born and the parents meet them for the first time. The whole world shifts in that one beautiful instant 🥹👶✨

If you’re looking for someone in your corner who’s 100% about your birth, your choices, and your strength — I’ve got you. Let’s do this together 🤍

🐾 The first baby… with fur. 🍼🐶

Before there were baby kicks and ultrasound pics, there was them—the one who claimed your lap, your heart, and probably your side of the bed.

Now, your fur baby is about to become a big sibling. And whether they know it or not, they’re still such an important part of the family. ❤️

They’ve been there through the morning sickness, the cravings, the nesting… and they’ll be there through this next beautiful, wild chapter too.

✨ Ways to help your pet adjust:
– Let them sniff baby’s things
– Keep their routine as steady as possible
– Give them space and affection
– Celebrate their new role as “big brother” or “big sister” 🐾

This transition is big for everyone—but love makes room.

Did you know… your body makes its own pain relief during birth?

Yep! During labor, your body releases an amazing mix of hormones:
• Oxytocin – helps contractions and builds connection
• Endorphins – your body’s natural pain relievers
• Adrenaline – kicks in to give you energy when it’s time to push

These hormones work best when you feel safe, calm, and supported.
That can mean soft lighting, quiet voices, familiar faces, or simply being in a space where you can relax and trust what your body is doing.

Birth isn’t just physical—it’s hormonal, emotional, and deeply instinctual.

Your body wants to help you. Sometimes, creating the right environment is the most powerful thing you can do.
