It’s been a while since I’ve introduced myself. Here you can find a little bit more of my background, areas of focus and interests. If you haven’t had a chance to see what I am doing in YMM Collaborative Practice , like the page, explore the website, and contact if you want more information or to book an appointment!
Meet Jocelyn Morrison (she/her), a Registered Social Worker (MSW) and part owner and co-founder of . Jocelyn’s main areas of focus include trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions and perinatal mental health and relationship issues.
Jocelyn works with youth, adults, couples and families, and aims to provide a service that is rooted in an anti-oppressive framework. She knows that each client enters into a session with unique experiences and backgrounds that contribute to their overall wellness, and considers these when working through a treatment plan. She gravitates to an Emotion Focused Therapeutic Model in her sessions, with focus on mind-body connection. She is trained in providing several different therapy models, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT).
Jocelyn originally began her training in Children’s Mental Health with a focus in working with youth. This work motivated her to initiate and help run skills-based groups for teens in the past, and she hopes to be able to provide this psychoeducation again to the community in the future. Currently, Jocelyn is training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and is taking part in workshops focusing on Chronic Pain and Mental Health.
Jocelyn is originally from Nova Scotia and has been working in Fort McMurray since 2014. She enjoys learning and being in nature as much as possible. Some other interests include practicing yoga, listening to audiobooks and playing dinosaurs with her kids.
